These channels would likely contain ads that would play during the programming, which has become a growing trend for streaming services as a means to provide a cheaper alternative to consumers, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theinformation.com\/articles\/to-keep-viewers-disney-plans-a-new-streaming-concept-old-style-tv-channels?utm_campaign=Editorial&#038;utm_content=Article&#038;utm_medium=organic_social&#038;utm_source=twitter\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>according to<\/a> the report.<\/p>\n<p>The addition of these always-on channels to Disney+ comes after Tubi, a Fox-owned movie streaming platform, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/4\/8\/24124302\/free-ad-supported-streaming-tvs-background-data\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>has received more viewers<\/a> than other streaming platforms, including Peacock, Max, and Paramount+.<\/p>\n<p>In March, Disney\u2019s three streaming platforms, including Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2836497\/disney-hulu-and-espn-to-restrict-password-sharing-in-march\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>all prevented users from sharing their passwords<\/a> in an attempt to clamp down on multiple consumers using one account.
