Merchan stated he couldn&#8217;t\u200b rule \u200bon\u200c the dates yet. Trump\u2064 criticized the judge&#8217;s hesitation, calling \u2063the trial a &#8220;scam&#8221; and lamenting missing his son&#8217;s milestone. \u2062The incident unfolded during Trump&#8217;s \u2064ongoing trial concerning <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/marjorie-taylor-greene-calls-likely-second-federal-trump-indictment-election-meddling\/\" title=\"Marjorie Taylor Greene labels potential second Trump indictment as 'election meddling'.\">hush \u200dmoney payments<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">Donald Trump<\/a> railed against Judge Juan Merchan for not approving him to skip trial proceedings on May 17 for his son Barron\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/4-key-policy-areas-where-the-democratic-leadership-and-black-voters-disagree\/\" title=\"4 Key Policy Areas Where The Democratic Leadership And Black Voters Disagree\">high school graduation<\/a>, with Merchan punting on whether Trump will be allowed to have the day off.<\/p>\n<p>Merchan reportedly <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/KatiePhang\/status\/1779876554169856463\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"said\">said<\/a> he \u201ccannot rule on those dates at this time,\u201d noting it will depend on how the trial is proceeding. The former president attacked the judge\u2019s indecision, telling reporters outside the courtroom it appeared he would not be allowed to \u201cescape\u201d the \u201cscam trial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had some amazing things happen today. As you know, my son has graduated from high school, and it looks like the judge will not let me go to the graduation. My son has worked very, very hard. He\u2019s a great student,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe was very proud of the fact that he did so well and was looking forward for years to have graduation with his mother and father there, and it looks like the judge isn\u2019t going to allow me to escape this scam. In his remarks to reporters, Trump also claimed he would not be getting a \u201cfair trial\u201d in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-big-problem-with-the-stormy-daniels-hush-money-case-against-trump\/\" title=\"The Big Problem With The Stormy Daniels Hush Money Case Against Trump\">hush money case<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a scam. It\u2019s a political witch hunt, it continues, and it continues forever, and we\u2019re not going to be given a fair trial. It\u2019s a very, very sad thing,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also decried Merchan\u2019s decision not to allow him to be excused from the Manhattan court to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-seeks-to-win-big-in-iowa-kill-shot\/\" title=\"Trump aims for a decisive victory in Iowa\">attend oral arguments<\/a> in the Supreme Court over his presidential immunity case. Trump claimed that the judge \u201cthinks he\u2019s superior, I guess, to the Supreme Court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In court on Monday, Merchan said he understands why Trump would want to attend the Supreme Court hearing but told defense attorney Todd Blanche that Trump \u201cis a criminal defendant in New York County Supreme Court.
