Letters were sent to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Director of \u200cNational Intelligence Avril Haines seeking\u200b clarification and details about briefings related to Biden&#8217;s family&#8217;s influence-peddling\u200c activities.\u2062 House investigators uncovered shell companies and foreign transactions involving tens of millions of dollars.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>House Republicans are investigating whether President Joe Biden received any \u201cdefensive\u201d briefings related to foreign interference as he sold political influence overseas while in the upper echelons of American government. <\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the chairmen of the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees sent letters to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines demanding the administration give details of any briefings they gave Biden about his family\u2019s influence-peddling schemes. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1515141004\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-74a81e42f6be1e5056453442141f2e63 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-74a81e42f6be1e5056453442141f2e63\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe Committees seek to understand if, because of Hunter Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-calls-travel-lid-for-wednesday-an-hour-after-bobulinski-interview-airs\/\" title=\"Biden Calls Travel Lid for Wednesday an Hour After Bobulinski Interview Airs\">foreign business dealings<\/a> and his vulnerabilities, Joe Biden was given \u2018defensive\u2019 briefings to discuss potential foreign interference either during his time as Vice President or while he was a presidential candidate,\u201d lawmakers write in both letters.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI director and the director of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fncs-carlson-if-youre-looking-for-election-rigging-look-no-further-than-media-treatment-of-hunter-biden-saga\/\" title=\"FNC's Carlson: 'If You're Looking for Election Rigging, Look No Further' Than Media Treatment of Hunter Biden Saga\">national intelligence<\/a> were given until April 29 to respond. <\/p>\n<p>In their letters, House Republicans outlined the major findings of their impeachment inquiry that has uncovered a series of financial relationships with foreign oligarchs. Former Biden family business partners have <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/20\/business-partners-confirm-joe-biden-was-part-of-familys-influence-selling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">testified<\/a> about the president\u2019s influence-peddling schemes and claimed they opened risks for national security. Tony Bobulinski went as far as to claim President Joe Biden was \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/10\/27\/biden-family-whistleblower-joe-biden-is-compromised-by-communist-china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">compromised<\/a>\u201d by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) even before the 2020 election. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to be crystal clear: from my direct personal experience and what I have subsequently come to learn, it is clear to me that Joe Biden was \u2018the brand\u2019 being sold by the Biden family,\u201d Bobulinski <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/20\/business-partners-confirm-joe-biden-was-part-of-familys-influence-selling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told <\/a>lawmakers at a March hearing. \u201cHis family\u2019s foreign influence peddling operation \u2014 from China to Ukraine and elsewhere \u2014 sold out to foreign actors who were seeking to gain influence and access to Joe Biden and the United States government.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-11e1b308ca4d84267f91d70ba3c058b1 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-11e1b308ca4d84267f91d70ba3c058b1\"><\/div>\n<p>House investigators have discovered more than <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/comer-oversight-committee-has-uncovered-mounting-evidence-tying-joe-biden-to-family-business-schemes\/#:~:text=%E2%80%9CAll%20of%20those%20things%20have,Republican%20majority%20and%20our%20investigation.%E2%80%9D&#038;text=The%20Biden%20family%20set%20up,hide%20payments%20from%20foreign%20adversaries.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">20<\/a> shell companies established by the Biden family to funnel <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/08\/09\/investigators-biden-business-brought-in-20-million-and-counting-from-foreign-oligarchs-while-joe-biden-was-vp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tens of millions<\/a> of dollars from foreign oligarchs.<\/p>\n<p>In their Monday letters, lawmakers outlined payments from leaders in China, Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan while citing evidence that President Biden \u201cwas aware of, and involved in, his family\u2019s influence peddling scheme.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>House Oversight Chairman James Comer of Kentucky formally requested testimony from President Biden last month. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Committee has identified and successfully traced money from foreign transactions \u2014 including from China \u2014 to your own bank accounts,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/chairman-comer-invites-president-biden-to-testify-before-the-oversight-committee%ef%bf%bc\/\">wrote <\/a>Comer. \u201c\u2026In addition to requesting that you answer the questions posed in this letter, I invite you to participate in a public hearing at which you will be afforded the opportunity to explain, under oath, your involvement with your family\u2019s sources of income and the means it has used to generate it.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-21ae92e335a9e2595905594b6280960d fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-21ae92e335a9e2595905594b6280960d\"><\/div>\n<p>Comer also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/03\/25\/james-comer-biden-impeachment-criminal-referrals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said <\/a>last month that Republicans\u2019 impeachment proceedings would most likely culminate in criminal referrals to the Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden, who had previously made a public hearing a prerequisite for cooperation with House Republicans, declined lawmakers\u2019 invitation to testify at an open forum. Instead, Hunter Biden\u2019s attorney, Abbe Lowell, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/15\/hunter-biden-attorney-likely-violated-ethics-rules-by-exploiting-former-client-jared-kushner-for-cheap-pr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">demanded <\/a>House Republicans hold a hearing into a former client\u2019s business deals, in a potential violation of legal ethics rules. <\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden testified only in private, and, <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/01\/rep-harriet-hageman-hunter-biden-used-addictions-as-a-sword-and-a-shield\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according <\/a>to Wyoming Rep.
