Turner said he never met with the American manager and continued to have weekly meetings with the ByteDance executive. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;Even though a spreadsheet is probably a very tiny percentage of all of the information that TikTok collects, it can be extremely targeted and very damaging to certain people,&#8221; Anton Dahbura, executive director of the Johns Hopkins Information Security Institute, <\/span><span>told<\/span><span><em>  Fortune<\/em>. &#8220;Everyone should be really concerned.&#8221;<\/span>\t<\/p>\n<p><span>U.S. lawmakers in January <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/national-security\/communist-controlled-media-rushes-to-defend-tiktok-ceo-over-ccp-ties\/\"><span>grilled<\/span><\/a><span>  TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew over his company\u2019s alleged ties to the Chinese Communist Party, after both President <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/biden-admin-finally-bans-tiktok-on-government-devices\/\"><span>Joe Biden<\/span><\/a><span>  and former president <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2020\/08\/11\/2020-17699\/addressing-the-threat-posed-by-tiktok-and-taking-additional-steps-to-address-the-national-emergency\"><span>Donald Trump<\/span><\/a><span>  voiced national security concerns and tried to restrict the video-sharing platform\u2019s operations in the United States.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Last month, the House <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/national-security\/house-passes-bill-cracking-down-on-chinese-owned-tiktok\/\"><span>voted<\/span><\/a><span>  352-65 in favor of banning TikTok unless it is sold to a non-Chinese company.
