She humorously confronted host Michael Che over his past\u2062 remarks on women&#8217;s sports. Clark cleverly responded to Che&#8217;s quips with her own set of jokes, engaging the audience and showcasing \u2064her wit and humor. She mocked and ridiculued host Michael Che for many of his previous comments regarding women\u2019s sports. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe University of Iowa announced that basketball star Caitlin Clark will have her jersey retired \u2013 and replaced with an apron,\u201d Che quipped. <\/p>\n<p>The joke drew some jeers from the crowd. Then, Che introduced Caitlin Clark for an opportunity to make some comedy of her own.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, the WNBA draft is this Monday, and Iowa star Caitlin Clark is expected to be the No. 1 pick. Here to comment, is Caitlin Clark.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The audience applauded loudly and cheered Clark\u2019s introduction on the skit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHey Michael, thanks for having me,\u201d Clark said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut nothing for my joke, whatever,\u201d Che asked the audience sarcastically. \u201cI am a fan, Caitlin, by the way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReally, Michael?\u201d Clark asked. \u201cBecause I heard that little apron joke you did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, it was a joke,\u201d Che replied. \u201cWe\u2019re just having fun.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou make a lot of jokes about women\u2019s sports, don\u2019t you, Michael?\u201d Clark asked.<\/p>\n<p>There were a few more exchanges between Che and Clark. Then, the basketball phenom started telling a few jokes of her own. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI did write some jokes,\u201d Clark said. \u201cAnd it would mean a lot to me if you read some of them. Just right over there, on the cards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Che complied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Indiana Fever have the first pick in this Monday\u2019s draft,\u201d Che read off the cue cards. \u201cA reminder that Indiana Fever is a WNBA team, and not what Michael Che gave to dozens of women at Purdue University.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSee,\u201d Clark said. \u201cNow, that\u2019s a good joke about women\u2019s sports. Try another one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Che continued.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNetflix\u2019s top new show is \u2018Ripley,\u2019 featuring an eerie and unsettling performance by actor Andrew Scott,\u201d Che read. \u201cCritics say it\u2019s the hardest thing to watch on Netflix since Michael Che\u2019s special \u2018Shame the Devil.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI like that one,\u201d Clark said. \u201cThere\u2019s more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Che continued and read the last of Clark\u2019s jokes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year, Caitlin Clark broke the record for three-pointers in a single season, and I have three pointers for Michael Che,\u201d he said. \u201cOne, \u2018Be.\u2019 Two, \u2018funnier.\u2019 Three, \u2018dumb***.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Saturday Night Live<\/em> audience yelled and cheered in approval. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWow. Thanks for doing that, Michael,\u201d Clark said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, no problem,\u201d Che said. \u201cAnd good luck in the WNBA. I hope you have a great first season.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThanks,\u201d Clark replied. \u201cI\u2019m sure it will be a big first step for me. But it\u2019s just one step for the WNBA thanks to all the great players, like Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, Cynthia Cooper, the great Dawn Staley, and my basketball hero, Maya Moore.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are the women that kicked down the door, so I could walk inside,\u201d Clark said. \u201cSo, I want to thank them tonight for laying down the foundation.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Clark ended the skit by giving Che a parting gift.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd Michael, since you\u2019re such a big fan, I brought you a souvenir,\u201d Clark said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s an apron, signed by me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Clark concluded her college career by becoming the all-time leader in points scored in NCAA women\u2019s basketball history and setting many other records.
