Shortly after he came into office, President Biden issued <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/environment\/commentary\/bidens-energy-screw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">a series of anti-fossil fuel energy policies<\/a>, including canceling the Keystone XL Pipeline project and halting leasing on federal lands for oil and gas production. Biden\u2019s energy policies strangled American energy production and supply and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/doritos-cuts-number-of-chips-in-each-bag-blames-bidenflation\/\" title=\"Doritos Cuts Number of Chips in Each Bag, Blames Bidenflation\">caused energy prices<\/a> to soar. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/environment\/commentary\/bidens-energy-screw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Heritage Foundation<\/a>, \u201cfrom January 2021 to January 2022, crude oil prices increased 45 percent, blowing past records set in 2008. Gasoline and diesel prices are the highest on record since the Energy Information Administration started keeping track in 1993.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-235797916\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f9e474440411000ec439a60fee86c09a fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f9e474440411000ec439a60fee86c09a\"><\/div>\n<p>Rising energy prices inflicted economic pain on Americans but were a gift to Russia, the world\u2019s largest natural gas exporter and one of the leading oil suppliers. Revenue from the energy sector has helped Russia\u2019s Putin build up his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indiatimes.com\/explainers\/news\/russias-energy-in-global-economy-and-what-its-mean-for-indian-economy-563119.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">foreign exchange reserves<\/a> and enabled him to finance his invasion of Ukraine. President Biden conveniently blamed the Russia-Ukraine war rather than his energy policies for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-downplays-rising-energy-prices-says-climate-crisis-is-more-important\/\" title=\"White House Downplays Rising Energy Prices, Says \u2018Climate Crisis\u2019 Is More Important\">rising energy prices<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Seeking to appease American voters before the midterm elections in 2022, the Biden administration sold off more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/01\/25\/republicans-fight-against-biden-oil-drawdowns-00079289\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">40 percent<\/a> of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) in 2022 in a futile effort to help limit energy prices from rising too high too fast. The administration\u2019s action did little to lower energy prices meaningfully but left the SPR at its lowest levels since the 1980s. <\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/12\/16\/biden-administration-strategic-petroleum-reserve-00074369\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">promised<\/a> to refill the reserve by the end of this year by buying oil from private companies. But it has frequently put those purchases <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/business\/2023\/08\/02\/oil-biden-strategic-petroleum-reserve\/4d4ce40a-3174-11ee-85dd-5c3c97d6acda_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">on hold<\/a>, claiming oil prices were higher than its $79-per-barrel target. The administration cited high oil prices again as the reason for its most frequent cancellations of oil purchases. The SPR remains depleted for the time being, which presents a national security risk because it leaves the United States vulnerable to respond to geopolitical events resulting in significant oil supply disruptions. <\/p>\n<p>Unable to refill the SPR isn\u2019t Biden\u2019s only broken promise. When he signed the misleading Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) in 2022, he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2022\/08\/25\/irs-agents-taxpayers-audits\/7897766001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">promised<\/a> that the IRA\u2019s new Internal Revenue Service (IRS) funding would only empower the agency to crack down on wealthy tax evaders, leaving the middle class alone. Biden\u2019s Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen insisted that the additional IRS funding from the IRA \u201cshall not be used to increase the share of small business or households below the $400,000 threshold audited relative to historical levels.\u201d Additionally, IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/08\/10\/irs-audits-will-absolutely-not-target-middle-income-americans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reassured<\/a> the U.S. Senate that the 87,000 new IRS agents he would hire (funded by the IRA) would \u201cabsolutely not\u201d increase audit scrutiny on small businesses or middle-income Americans. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-51879343dabe899023d47df279e2134e fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-51879343dabe899023d47df279e2134e\"><\/div>\n<p>The Wall Street Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/irs-tax-collectors-audit-middle-class-tigta-5071d622?mod=e2two\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a> this week that the most recent IRS audit shows, \u201cAs of last summer, 63 percent of new audits targeted taxpayers with incomes of less than $200,000. Only a small overall share reached the highest earners, while 80 percent of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/after-promising-not-to-the-irs-army-democrats-expanded-is-targeting-the-middle-class\/\" title=\"Despite pledging not to do so, the IRS, under Democratic leadership, has extended its focus to include the middle class\">audits covered filers earning<\/a> less than $1 million.\u201d In other words, the IRS indeed stepped up its audit scrutiny against small business owners and middle-income Americans, contrary to what President Biden and his cabinet officials promised. <\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s other broken promises include vowing to \u201cdeliver economic relief for working families.\u201d Yet his administration\u2019s excessive spending sparked inflation rates to rise to a four-decade high in 2022. Although the growth of inflation rates has slowed since then, the prices of many items remain elevated. Food inflation hit working families especially hard, as \u201cprices for hundreds of grocery items have increased more than 50 percent since 2019,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/business\/retail\/inflation-food-price-of-groceries-2024-5010700b?mod=hp_lead_pos8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>On the foreign policy front, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politifact.com\/truth-o-meter\/promises\/biden-promise-tracker\/promise\/1548\/end-wars-afghanistan-and-middle-east\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">promised<\/a> to end wars in the Middle East and restore respect for America internationally. Yet the United States\u2019 humiliating and chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, which left 13 U.S. servicemen and women dead and billions of dollars\u2019 worth of military equipment behind, significantly damaged our nation\u2019s prestige and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2021\/08\/17\/americas-loss-in-afghanistan-is-chinas-gain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">emboldened our adversaries<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/02\/18\/us\/politics\/biden-iran-nuclear.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">restarted<\/a> the nuclear negotiation with Iran, promising to curb Iran\u2019s nuclear ambition and bring peace to the Middle East. The U.S. released billions of dollars to Iran and removed Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen from the global terrorist list without asking for anything in return. Flushed with cash and weapons supplied by Iran, Hamas launched the worst attack against Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, and Israel was forced to respond militarily. Iran-backed Houthis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/houthis-using-iranian-missiles-drones-attack-civilian-military-targets-across-middle-east-dia-confirms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">launched missiles and drones<\/a> against Israel and U.S. targets and terrorized shipping traffic in the Red Sea, causing disruptions in international trade. It is fair to say that under President Biden, America\u2019s global image is diminished, and the Middle East is on fire. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c40fb16aeaf4b1bcdce47a4d1a6fac2a fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c40fb16aeaf4b1bcdce47a4d1a6fac2a\"><\/div>\n<p>Despite Biden\u2019s colossal policy failures and broken promises in his first term, he will undoubtedly make more outlandish promises as he runs for reelection.
