Paul emphasized the importance of upholding the\u200d Fourth Amendment.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>Sen. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/rand-paul\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Rand Paul<\/a> (R-KY) has joined the growing number of critics House Speaker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/mike-johnson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Mike Johnson<\/a> (R-LA) faces within the Republican Party, claiming that the House speaker has not stood up against Democrats in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Congress<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Paul\u2019s criticism stems from <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/4590833-fisa-warrant-mandate-republicans-retaliation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Johnson voting with 126 Democrats and 86 Republicans<\/a> against an amendment to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/2964090\/house-passes-fisa-renewal-capping-months-of-gop-infighting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act<\/a>, which would have required a warrant for federal agencies to search the data of United States citizens. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-johnson-democrat-media-suppress-information-about-more-than-5000-vaccine-deaths\/\" title=\"Sen. Johnson: Democrat media suppress information about more than 5,000 vaccine deaths\">senator argued<\/a> that the United States does not have a right to spy on its citizens, citing the Fourth Amendment in the U.S. Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFISA doesn\u2019t obey the fourth amendment, and so Speaker Johnson was incredibly wrong,\u201d Paul said on Fox News\u2019s <em>Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo<\/em>. \u201cHe broke the tie. He voted with the Democrats. Here we have the leader of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Republicans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Republicans<\/a> in the House votes with the Democrats against a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-sides-with-man-fighting-gun-seizure-after-mental-health-episode\/\" title=\"Supreme Court Sides With Man Fighting Gun Seizure After Mental Health Episode\">warrant requirement<\/a>. We also have Speaker Johnson voting for the spending package, once again with the majority of the Democrats. As I see it now, I\u2019m not so sure there\u2019s a difference between Mike Johnson being in charge and the Democrats being in charge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kentucky\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Kentucky<\/a> senator noted how Johnson \u201cseemed\u201d to be a conservative when he became House speaker, but argued that he has failed to make any real progress for House Republicans. He added that both Democrats and national security \u201chawks\u201d have benefited from Johnson\u2019s recent voting decisions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut Johnson hasn\u2019t held his ground,\u201d Paul said. \u201cHe has power, he has the majority. Use the power of the purse, Speaker Johnson. Do something to make us think you are different than the Democrats, but so far, I don\u2019t see a lot of difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This FISA legislation is currently stuck in the House, as lawmakers went back and forth on how to proceed right after the bill passed. Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/anna-paulina-luna\" title>Anna Paulina Luna<\/a> (R-FL) demanded a recorded vote on the motion to table, which will take place as early as Monday, keeping the bill from reaching the Senate until that time.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the wake of the FISA vote and the vote to add the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fisa-warrant-requirement-gets-last-ditch-revival-push\/\" title=\"Last-Minute Push to Revive FISA Warrant Requirement\">warrant requirement amendment<\/a>, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) warned that some Republicans who voted against the amendment could see him in their district to campaign against them in the upcoming elections.<\/p>\n<p>Amid Johnson\u2019s growing criticism, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/2933865\/speaker-johnnson-motion-to-vacate-mtg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>filed a motion to vacate the House speaker<\/a> last month.
