Andy Biggs (R-AZ) that would add a <a href=\"https:\/\/biggs.house.gov\/media\/press-releases\/congressman-biggs-introduces-major-legislation-end-warrantless-surveillance\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">warrant requirement<\/a> for government officials wanting to do U.S. person searches in the information that gets swept up in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/devin-nunes-blasts-nsa-director-paul-nakasone-over-political-targeting-of-former-trump-official-michael-ellis\/\" title=\"Devin Nunes Blasts NSA Director Paul Nakasone over Political Targeting of Former Trump Official Michael Ellis\">foreign surveillance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The amendment has already proven to be a contentious proposition that spilled across party lines, with opponents arguing that it could <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HouseIntel\/status\/1778831812069851607\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/126-ex-generals-admirals-warn-about-biden-u-s-in-deep-peril-health-a-concern-7-red-flags-emerging\/\" title=\"BREAKING: 126 Ex-Generals And Admirals Say Biden Is Mentally Unfit For President\">jeopardize national security<\/a><\/a>. We need Republicans in Congress who believe that you shouldn\u2019t be surveilled by your federal government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While the Biden administration supports the reauthorization bill, which would extend Section 702 for two years and implement some FISA reforms, it has pushed back against the warrant requirement idea.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1700760801843000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2PQrVSrJfhxNb4LcARqniG\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The amendment would \u201cprohibit U.S. officials from reviewing critical information that the Intelligence Community has already lawfully collected, with exceptions that are exceedingly narrow and unworkable in practice,\u201d the White House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/SAP-H.R.-7888-FISA.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said in a statement.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Congress and Biden have until April 19 to extend Section 702 before it sunsets.<\/p>\n<p>Luna made a specific appeal to the 56 members who voted to pass the FISA bill after supporting the amendment from Biggs.
