His strategic stops in Lehigh Valley and Bucks County\u200d are crucial in the upcoming elections. Trump&#8217;s return to Lackawanna County, where Joe Biden won in 2020, highlights the intense competition in the region. Despite recent Democratic wins, \u200cRepublicans are optimistic about their chances\u200c in reclaiming Pennsylvania\u2064 due to factors like \u2064voter registration numbers favoring their party.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Former President <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a> will head back to <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pennsylvania\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Pennsylvania<\/a> on Saturday to campaign in certain swing districts in an attempt to <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2016-elections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>repeat his win<\/a> of the state in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Trump is expected to make stops in Lehigh Valley, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/philadelphia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Philadelphia<\/a> suburb of Bucks County for a fundraiser and a rally. His stop in Lehigh Valley falls in the state\u2019s seventh district, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/four-house-republicans-who-face-tough-reelection-prospects-heading-into-2024\/\" title=\"Four House Republicans facing challenging reelection in 2024.\">considered highly competitive<\/a> but is currently held by Rep. Susan Wild (D-PA).<\/p>\n<p>Another swing county, which will likely be the most watched, is Lackawanna County, where Trump won in 2016, but President <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a> won in 2020. The county seat is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2447543\/home-field-disadvantage-even-voters-in-bidens-birthplace-dont-think-bidenomics-is-working\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Scranton<\/a>, Pennsylvania, where Biden was born. The president is expected to return there on Tuesday for another speech on the economy.<\/p>\n<p>The visits come after <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/democrats\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Democrats<\/a> have seen large victories across the state in recent elections, including winning a closely watched <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/john-fetterman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Senate race in 2022.<\/a> The other Senate seat is up for grabs this November, with Sen. <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/bob-casey\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Bob Casey<\/a> (D-PA) facing the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senate-dems-get-boost-from-operatives-linked-to-disinfo-scandals\/\" title=\"Senate Dems Get Boost From Operatives Linked To Disinfo Scandals\">toughest reelection campaign<\/a> of his career. Biden also flipped the state back to Democrats in 2020. <\/p>\n<p>Despite the Democratic victories, Republicans in the state believe they stand a chance of winning it back for Trump, and several key components could swing the state in his favor. <\/p>\n<p>The first is voter registration, which has seen more registered Republican voters in the state than Democrats. There are currently 25,593 Republicans automatically registered in the state, while 22,528 Democrats are registered, according to data from\u00a0Pennsylvania\u2019s Department of State as of April 10. However, there are 22,822 voters listed as \u201cother.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very bullish on the Trump campaign in Pennsylvania,\u201d Charlie Gerow, a Pennsylvania-based GOP strategist and former gubernatorial candidate, <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4591371-trump-boosting-efforts-to-wrest-pennsylvania-back-to-gop-victory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>told<\/a> the <em>Hill<\/em>. \u201cThe Republicans have managed to dramatically decrease the Democrat registration in Pennsylvania.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Another component is the priority of voters when it comes to things on the ballot. Democrats have homed in on the topics of abortion, and the future of democracy in the country as major issues this election cycle. But Republicans in the state claim that some of the biggest issues are the economy, and immigration. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t get the sense that democracy is on the ballot,\u201d David Urban, who was an adviser for Trump in the state for the 2016 election, said. \u201cI think when people are fearful that they can\u2019t fill their tank or take their kids on vacation this summer, I\u2019m not sure that democracy really matters. That\u2019s a concept. It\u2019s a fuzzy concept versus, hey, I can\u2019t pay my bills. That\u2019s not a fuzzy concept.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The final threat to Biden this November, and a big hope for Trump, is the role of third-party candidates. <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/jill-stein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Jill Stein<\/a>, who pulled votes from former Secretary of State <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/hillary-clinton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Hillary Clinton<\/a> in 2016, is running for the Green Party again. But <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/rfk-jr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a>, could end up a larger spoiler candidate if he makes it on the state ballot this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Kennedy gets on the ballot, he\u2019s going to do very well in the state,\u201d GOP strategist Vince Galko said. \u201cHe can be the spoiler in this thing for Biden.
