Expert graders\u200d rate the week poorly due to inflation concerns, spending policies, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pushing-the-global-south-into-the-embrace-of-china\/\" title=\"Pushing the Global South Into the Embrace of China\">foreign policy approaches<\/a>, affecting the administration&#8217;s overall \u200bperformance assessment. The latest White House Report Card underscores the\u200b obstacles President Biden is grappling with, such as escalating consumer inflation, electoral ramifications, and his positions\u200b on student loans and global relations. Notably, expert assessors have given low ratings\u2063 for the week, citing worries about inflation,\u200b fiscal strategies,\u200d and diplomatic actions, which collectively impact the administration&#8217;s performance \u2062evaluation.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>This week\u2019s White House <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/washington-secrets\/2956450\/white-house-report-card-biden-bumbles-over-transgender-easter-israel-betrayal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Report Card<\/a> finds President Joe Biden being hobbled by a new surge of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/finance-and-economy\/2964417\/inflation-how-much-prices-for-important-goods-and-services-have-risen-under-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>consumer inflation,<\/a> threatening his reelection chances and delaying an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-treasury-secy-yellen-supports-powell-for-reappointment-as-fed-chair\/\" title=\"Report: Treasury Secy. Yellen supports Powell for reappointment as Fed chair\">interest rate cut<\/a> by the Federal Reserve.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of reversing his high-spending ways, however, the president unveiled plans for more to be dumped into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/student-loans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>deadbeat student loans,<\/a> an election-year move aimed at winning back younger voters who have been nonplussed by his presidency.<\/p>\n<p>He did get a boost politically when abortion surged back into the top issues after Arizona\u2019s highest court cited a Civil War-era law to ban most of the procedures in the state.<\/p>\n<p>But his continued scolding of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/israel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Israel<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/iran\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Iran<\/a>\u2019s threat to attack the Jewish state again has the world on edge.<\/p>\n<p>There was some humor during the week thanks to the State Visit of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his funny references to current culture.<\/p>\n<p>Conservative grader Jed Babbin gave the week a \u201cD-minus,\u201d and cited high inflation and the administration\u2019s weak support for Israel. \u201cFor shame,\u201d he wrote of Biden\u2019s approach to Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic pollster John Zogby graded the week a \u201cC,\u201d and highlighted the problems the Republicans and former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Donald Trump<\/a> are having and how that\u2019s helping keep Biden tied in his reelection bid. Yet, he added, \u201che\u2019s not running away with the election.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jed Babbin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Grade: D-<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>There\u2019s not a lot to be said for this week and certainly nothing good.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Bidenomics has continued to cause inflation which is reflected in the prices of groceries, gasoline and pretty much everything else. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/gas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Gasoline<\/a> has gone up to $3.59 per gallon in the town I live in, about 20 cents higher than it was a month ago.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The interest on the federal debt was $1.06 trillion in the first six months of FY 2024. That\u2019s higher than the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-bidens-welfare-expansion-plans-undermine-americas-safety\/\" title=\"How Biden\u2019s Welfare Expansion Plans Undermine America\u2019s Safety\">entire defense budget<\/a> for the year of $825 billion. We\u2019re going broke fast and President Joe Biden is doing everything he can to accelerate it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And, of course, Old Joe wants to keep spending recklessly. His new student loan \u201cforgiveness\u201d will cost hundreds of billions. And that, of course, is happening after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Supreme-Court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Supreme Court<\/a> told Biden he didn\u2019t have any authority to \u201cforgive\u201d student loans. He\u2019s doing it in defiance of the law, but that\u2019s Joe. (BTW, \u201cloan forgiveness\u201d is only possible when it\u2019s your money that you tell someone he doesn\u2019t have to pay back.) Ain\u2019t Bidenomics great?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>And, of course, Biden is still trying to prevent Israel from attacking the last Hamas stronghold in Rafah City. Biden \u2014 really, Secretary of State <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Antony-Blinken\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Antony Blinken<\/a>, national security adviser Jake Sullivan, and whoever else is pulling his strings \u2014 want Israel to lose the war Hamas started on October 7. For shame.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>John Zogby<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span>Grade: C<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>The rate of inflation turned in the wrong direction this week, higher than the previous month and postponing a Fed decision to lower interest rates.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The specter of war in the Middle East is also causing a lot of anxiety in D.C., and President Joe Biden, while still critical of Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, is embracing Israel a little more closely than his base feels he needs to.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>While his approval ratings are static and low, there are more polls showing him leading former President Donald Trump nationwide in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>2024 presidential race<\/a>. Still, Biden continues to close the gap with Trump in the battleground states.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Meanwhile, his opposition party is a mess. Another dumped speaker coming soon? An 1864 abortion ban in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Arizona\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Arizona<\/a>. Really? A former president on trial for paying hush money to a porn star? Say it ain\u2019t so, Joe. But it is so.
