The details were reported by Axios.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<figure><figcaption> \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t(Getty Images)\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>A report released Friday shows President Joe Biden used campaign donations from the Democratic National Committee to pay for his legal defense during Special Counsel Robert Hur\u2019s probe into his handling of classified documents. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The DNC paid various lawyers and law firms more than $1.5 million to defend Biden in Hur\u2019s investigation, <em>Axios <\/em><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/04\/12\/dnc-covered-biden-legal-bills-special-counsel-probe\"><span>reported<\/span><\/a><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>About 70 percent of the DNC\u2019s expenses in Biden\u2019s case\u2014$1.05 million\u2014were paid between July 2023 and February 2024 to Biden\u2019s lead attorney Bob Bauer and his company Bob Bauer PLLC, the outlet reported. The special counsel had <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/robert-hur-special-counsel-biden-classified-document-probe-2023-01-13\/\"><span>started<\/span><\/a><span>  investigating Biden in January 2023 following the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/biden-administration\/drip-drip-drip-white-house-says-there-are-more-classified-docs-at-biden-home\/\"><span>discovery<\/span><\/a><span>  of classified documents from Biden&#8217;s vice presidency at his office and home.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The <\/span><i><span>Axios<\/span><\/i>  report<span> came after the Biden campaign repeatedly attacked former president Donald Trump for using campaign funds in his legal defense. Biden\u2019s deputy campaign manager Rob Flaherty earlier this month <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MaeveReston\/status\/1776588862573219929\"><span>called<\/span><\/a><span>  a recent fundraiser for Trump &#8220;a handful of billionaires figuring out how to pay his legal bills.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The Biden campaign&#8217;s finance chair Rufus Gifford last week said on MSNBC that unlike Trump, Biden is &#8220;not spending money on legal bills or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dems-used-campaign-funds-to-pay-for-bidens-legal-bills-while-hitting-trump-for-doing-the-same-thing\/\" title=\"Democrats used campaign funds to cover Biden's legal expenses while criticizing Trump for engaging in similar practices\">hawking gold sneakers<\/a>,&#8221; claiming that &#8220;every single time you give to the campaign, we&#8217;re going straight to talk to voters, with 100 offices open in swing states, hundreds of thousands of calls to voters.&#8221;<\/span>\t<\/p>\n<p><span>The DNC <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/04\/12\/dnc-covered-biden-legal-bills-special-counsel-probe\"><span>declined<\/span><\/a><span>  to disclose how much money it had spent on behalf of Biden in Hur\u2019s probe, with its spokesman Alex Floyd denying the committee used donations from Democratic voters to pay off Biden\u2019s legal fees. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;There is no comparison\u2014the DNC does not spend a single penny of grassroots donors\u2019 money on legal bills\u2014unlike Donald Trump, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dnc-picked-up-some-of-bidens-legal-bills-during-robert-hur-investigation\/\" title=\"The Democratic National Committee (DNC) assisted with some of Biden's legal expenses amid the Robert Hur investigation\">actively solicits legal fees<\/a> from his supporters and has drawn down every bank account he can get his hands on, like a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-absolutely-certain-doj-investigation-will-clear-me-of-wrongdoing\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden: \u2018Absolutely Certain\u2019 DOJ Investigation Will Clear Me Of \u2018Wrongdoing\u2019\">personal piggy bank<\/a>,&#8221; the DNC spokesman said.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A recent report revealed that President Joe Biden utilized campaign funds from the Democratic National Committee to cover legal expenses in Special Counsel Robert Hur\u2019s inquiry on classified documents.
