The DNC reportedly allocated\u200d over $1.5 million to \u200ccover lawyers and firms representing Biden during \u2064a probe concerning the mishandling of classified documents by\u2062 special counsel Robert Hur.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>Democrats and President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Joe Biden\">Joe Biden<\/a> have bashed former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">Donald Trump<\/a> for using campaign funds for legal fees, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/democratic-national-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Joe Biden\">Democratic National Committee<\/a> has reportedly helped Biden pay for legal fees related to a special counsel investigation into him.<\/p>\n<p>The DNC paid lawyers and firms representing Biden, while he was under investigation for his alleged mishandling of classified documents by then-special counsel Robert Hur, more than $1.5 million from last year through February, according to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/04\/12\/dnc-covered-biden-legal-bills-special-counsel-probe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Axios\">Axios<\/a><\/em>  and Federal Election Commission filings.<\/p>\n<p>The FEC data show <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/disbursements\/?data_type=processed&#038;committee_id=C00010603&#038;recipient_name=Bob+Bauer&#038;two_year_transaction_period=2024&#038;min_date=01%2F01%2F2023&#038;max_date=12%2F31%2F2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"seven\">seven<\/a> payments of $150,000 to Bob Bauer, Biden\u2019s lead lawyer in the investigation, from July 2023 to February 2024, along with payments to the law firm Hemenway and Barnes, which has worked with the DNC but also employs one of Biden\u2019s lawyers for the special counsel investigation, Jennifer Miller.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senior-fbi-official-violated-policy-accepted-dinners-and-black-tie-event-invitations-from-media\/\" title=\"Senior FBI Official Violated Policy, Accepted Dinners And Black-Tie Event Invitations From Media\">special counsel report<\/a>, released in February, did not recommend charges against Biden for his mishandling of classified documents but alleged Biden has a \u201csignificantly limited\u201d memory and expressed concerns about his mental acuity.<\/p>\n<p>Trump has used his campaign funds for legal fees as he faces a flurry of criminal cases in various jurisdictions alongside a heated presidential contest.
