Juliet, Tennessee in 2021. The FACE Act, signed into law by President Bill Clinton, punishes \u201cviolent, threatening damaging, and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with the right to seek, obtain, or provide\u201d abortions. <\/p>\n<p>For their peaceful demonstration \u2014 that included hymns and prayer \u2014 the defendants each face a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-mdtn\/pr\/six-defendants-convicted-federal-civil-rights-conspiracy-and-freedom-access-clinic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">maximum sentence<\/a> of more than a decade in prison and three years of supervised released, plus up to $260,000 in fines. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1206496971\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-468701b6b43b82934b91d8992afd6126 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-468701b6b43b82934b91d8992afd6126\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/wisconsin-man-sentenced-prison-2022-firebombing-madison-building\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">On Wednesday<\/a>, Hridindu Sankar Roychowdhury, a pro-abortion terrorist who <a href=\"https:\/\/tennesseestar.com\/news\/dna-from-trashed-burrito-leads-to-arrest-of-man-in-connection-with-firebombing-of-wisconsin-pro-life-center\/mkittle\/2023\/03\/30\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">firebombed the pro-life Wisconsin Family Action offices<\/a> on Mother\u2019s Day, 2022, was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison (minus time served) plus three years supervised release on just one count of malicious damage by fire or explosives of property used in interstate commerce.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Court <a href=\"https:\/\/ballotpedia.org\/William_Conley_(Wisconsin)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Judge William Conley,<\/a> appointed to the Western Wisconsin District bench by President Barack Obama, handed down the sentence on a much lighter charge than the acts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carmichaellegal.com\/federal-terrorism-charges#:~:text=A%20conviction%20for%20providing%20material,can%20be%20life%20in%20prison.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">conspiracy and domestic terrorism<\/a> federal prosecutors say Roychowdhury engaged in. With good behavior and time served, the terrorist will serve but five years, according to legal experts. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cRoychowdhury\u2019s arson was an act of domestic terrorism,\u201d U.S. Attorney Timothy M. O\u2019Shea for the Western District of Wisconsin said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/wisconsin-man-sentenced-prison-2022-firebombing-madison-building\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a>. \u201cThe U.S. Department of Justice, and this U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office, with our local and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fbi-confirms-laundrie-notebook-admits-guilt-will-close-gabby-petito-investigation\/\" title=\"FBI Confirms Laundrie Notebook Admits Guilt, Will Close Gabby Petito Investigation\">federal law enforcement partners<\/a> will never flinch from holding domestic terrorists accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Well\u2026 <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-576354bcc431dfdabc974fdf6c595451 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-576354bcc431dfdabc974fdf6c595451\"><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Aggressive Tactics\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>The Justice Department has certainly thrown the book at pro-life activists accused of acts of domestic terrorism. <\/p>\n<p>Mark Houck and his family were greeted with an FBI raid and arrested on FACE Act charges in 2022. A Philadelphia jury unanimously found Houck <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/pennsylvania-jury-acquits-pro-life-activist-mark-houck-charges-obstructing-abortion-clinic-access\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">not guilty<\/a>. Houck\u2019s wife, Ryan-Marie Houck, told the Catholic News Agency that some 25 agents with more than a dozen vehicles showed up at the family\u2019s house \u201cand started pounding on our door.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey said they were going to break in if he didn\u2019t open it. And then they had about five guns pointed at my husband, myself, and basically at my kids,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/253523\/acquitted-pro-life-activist-mark-houck-reveals-details-of-fbi-raid-will-press-charges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told CNA<\/a> at the time. <\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, champions of murdering the unborn <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/florida-man-sentenced-for-threatening-to-murder-supreme-court-justice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">threatened<\/a> to assassinate Supreme Court justices \u2014 with one man arrested outside Justice Brett Kavanaugh\u2019s home and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2022\/07\/29\/roske-attempted-murder-kavanaugh-fbi-affidavit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">charged<\/a> with attempted murder \u2014 and unhinged <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/supreme-court\/free-speech-federal-crime-protesters-are-still-marching-conservative-s-rcna78678\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mobs<\/a> screamed outside their homes. But <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/d9\/2023-07\/07.12.23.%20--%20Protests%20Supreme%20Court%20Justices%20-%20Interim.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">leftist stooge<\/a> Attorney General Merrick Garland <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/07\/11\/ag-garland-not-protecting-scotus-justices-from-protestors-ted-cruz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wouldn\u2019t lift a finger<\/a> to protect the justices.   <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2cdbb9f9f321021013eb08c9dac46b6f fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-2cdbb9f9f321021013eb08c9dac46b6f\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe FBI has heightened its use of aggressive tactics against pro-life Americans since the Biden administration\u2019s promise to use every tool available to protect the right of women to subvert pro-life state laws passed in the wake of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/topic\/supreme-court\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Supreme Court<\/a>\u2018s <em>Dobbs v. Jackson<\/em> decision. This now includes heavy-handed unequal enforcement of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act against pro-life advocates,\u201d Brian Burch, president of Catholic Vote, wrote in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/campaign-intimidate-churches-pro-life-groups-getting-worse-opinion-1802384\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">op-ed<\/a> for Newsweek headlined, \u201cThe Campaign To Intimidate Churches, Pro-Life Groups Is Getting Worse.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>By comparison, Tyler Massengill, who used a homemade explosive to set fire to a Planned Parenthood abortion mill in Peoria, Illinois, was sentenced in August to 10 years in prison. As was the case in Roychowdhury\u2019s May 2022 use of Molotov cocktails to set fire to the Wisconsin Family Action office, no one was in the Planned Parenthood building at the time of the attack. <\/p>\n<p>In the Peoria firebombing sentencing, U.S. District Judge James Shadid said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lubbock-becomes-largest-city-in-u-s-to-outlaw-abortion\/\" title=\"Lubbock Becomes Largest City In U.S. To Outlaw Abortion\">women seeking abortions<\/a> and a \u201cvariety of services\u201d were inconvenienced, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centralillinoisproud.com\/news\/local-news\/tyler-massengill-sentenced-to-10-years-for-peorias-planned-parenthood-clinics-arson\/?utm_source=wmbd-wyzz_app&#038;utm_medium=social&#038;utm_content=share-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WMBD-TV<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd to add to your accomplishments, there\u2019s the striking of fear, stress and inconvenience to thousands of patients and employees from the many other Planned Parenthood facilities who wonder if they are next on the list of misguided people like you,\u201d the judge said. <\/p>\n<p>Yes, pro-life advocates can relate. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Days of Rage<\/h2>\n<p>Roychowdhury\u2019s sentence is the first after a wave of attacks against pro-life supporters and organizations surrounding the U.S. Supreme Court\u2019s 2022 <em>Dobbs<\/em> ruling that overturned the constitutionally flawed <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>The attack in Madison just after 6 a.m. on May 8, 2022 was among the first following a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2022\/05\/02\/supreme-court-abortion-draft-opinion-00029473\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">leaked report to Politico<\/a> about the high court\u2019s intention to strike down <em>Roe<\/em> and its federalized protections of abortion. Investigators found a burned-black broken mason jar beneath a broken window. A painted threat was scrawled on the building\u2019s exterior: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2022\/05\/08\/us\/anti-abortion-office-arson\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cIf abortions aren\u2019t safe then you aren\u2019t either.\u201d<\/a> <\/p>\n<p>Roychowdhury remained at large until late March 2023, when the terrorist was foiled by a half-eaten burrito. The DNA from the discarded dinner was the evidence investigators needed to arrest him.<\/p>\n<p>Jane\u2019s Revenge, a militant pro-abortion group, claimed responsibility for the attack, demanding pro-life centers face \u201cincreasingly extreme tactics to maintain freedom over our bodies.\u201d  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWisconsin is the first flashpoint, but we are all over the US, and we will issue no further warnings,\u201d a Jane\u2019s Revenge statement declared. In essence, <em>Don\u2019t judge the terrorist\u2019s entire life on one bad day. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Julaine Appling, president emeritus of Wisconsin Family Action, said her organization is disappointed with the softer sentencing. In her victim statement, Appling recommended the misguided terrorist serve a 15-year sentence, in no small part because investigators found Roychowdhury had taken out a White Pages account to track Appling and another staff member. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is very, very personal to me,\u201d she said, adding that investigators have told her that Roychowdhury has not been forthcoming about who helped him in the Madison firebombing. <\/p>\n<p>In a Wisconsin Family Action <a href=\"https:\/\/wifamilyaction.org\/category\/press-releases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a> issued on Thursday, Appling said, \u201cMay 8, 2022, is forever emblazoned on my mind. It was a very visual reminder that people who disagree with us can and will use violence to try to silence us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was a serious, premeditated crime that was the first of nearly 100 attacks on prolife organizations across the country.\u00a0In light of this, we are disappointed in the judge\u2019s decision regarding a crime the judge called \u2018terrorism\u2019 multiple times,\u201d Appling added. <\/p>\n<p>She told me that while she believes top levels of the Biden Justice Department are \u201crotten to the core,\u201d the FBI agents and other officers who worked on the case were very professional and did seek justice for the act of terrorism.
