On May 1, the initial installment will \u200dgo\u200b to individuals with severe disabilities and limited income, as per the Social Security Administration.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>The first of two May <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/social-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Supplemental Security Income<\/a> payments, worth up to $943 for individual filers, goes out to <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/money\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>millions<\/a> of beneficiaries in just under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/2947075\/republicans-test-waters-challenging-trump-curbing-entitlements\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>three weeks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2951485\/food-stamps-april-direct-payments-conclude-delaware-20-days\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>installment<\/a> will go out in 20 days, on Wednesday, May 1, to people with a serious debilitating disability that results in a limited income, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/social-security-administration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Social Security Administration<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>An unusual second payment will go out on Friday, May 30, and will replace June\u2019s disbursement because June 1 is on a Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>The maximum amount each filer can get depends on the category under which they applied for the payment. There are three categories: Individual filers, joint filers, and essential persons, which are people who live with SSI recipients to provide them with necessary care.<\/p>\n<p>Individual filers receive up to $943 each month, people who filed as a couple can receive up to $1,415 a month, and essential persons get up to $472 each month, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssa.gov\/oact\/cola\/SSI.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>according to<\/a> the SSA.
