With a background challenging societal norms,\u200c Johnson emphasizes the importance of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-house-republicans-demand-national-archives-remove-trigger-warnings-for-founding-documents\/\" title=\"EXCLUSIVE: House Republicans Demand National Archives Remove Trigger Warnings For Founding Documents\">dismantling structural racism<\/a> and advocating for feminist leadership principles.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>The newly-appointed DEI chief at the State Department claimed that America\u2019s institutions are \u201criddled with racism\u201d and based on a \u201cfailed historical model\u201d in a now<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/scientists-from-wuhan-lab-claim-they-were-bitten-by-bats\/\" title=\"Scientists From Wuhan Lab Claim They Were Bitten by Bats\">-deleted article<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Zakiya Carr Johnson was appointed as the department\u2019s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer last week by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, who boasted that she brings \u201cexpertise and a fresh perspective on how we build a workforce that reflects America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Johnson, who previously served as senior adviser and director of the first Race, Ethnicity, and Social Inclusion Unit in the department under former President Barack Obama, made scathing criticisms of the United States in a now-deleted article published in October 2019 on the website of Fair Share of Women Leaders, a feminist organization.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn every position I have held, from junior associate to Senior Advisor, there have been opportunities to challenge the forces that seek to silence women and those most vulnerable in society,\u201d she <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20200808200921\/http:\/\/fairsharewl.org\/it-will-start-with-movements-like-these\/\">wrote<\/a>, Fox News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/new-state-department-diversity-chief-believes-us-failed-historical-model-colonizing-past\">reported<\/a>. \u201cThere are mechanisms and cultures which dispute the humanity and ability of people like me to be trusted to lead,\u201d she added before saying that America\u2019s institutions are \u201coften riddled with racism, patriarchy and exclusion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese are chinks in the armor of traditional leadership that refuse to reconcile with a colonizing past, or recognize that time has run out for experimentation and tweaking of a failed historic model,\u201d Johnson wrote, also affirming the tenets of Critical Race Theory and stating that \u201cwe cannot have equity without dismantling structural racism, patriarchy and heterosexism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She also <a href=\"https:\/\/fairsharewl.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/FairShare_Action_Paper_en.pdf\">co-authored a guide<\/a> called \u201cFeminist Leaders for Feminist Goals\u201d for the same organization, providing a how-to playbook for feminists to usurp \u201ca culture of male and\/ or white dominance\u201d in organizations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFeminist leadership must change power structures.
