It suggested a cautious approach in prescribing such treatments, especially to individuals under\u200c 18.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/cass.independent-review.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/CassReview_Final.pdf?utm_source=substack&#038;utm_medium=email\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">independent review<\/a> published Wednesday concluded gender-confused children should not be given <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/whistleblower-girls-deemed-transgender-by-uk-health-service-for-not-liking-pink-ribbons-and-dollies\/\" title=\"Whistleblower: Girls Deemed \u2018Transgender\u2019 by UK Health Service for Not Liking 'Pink Ribbons and Dollies\u2019\">opposite-sex hormones<\/a> because there is no evidence the life-altering drugs will \u201cbuy [them] time to think\u201d or \u201creduce suicide risk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cIndependent Review of Gender Identity Services for Children and Young People\u201d conducted by high-profile U.K. pediatrician Dr. Hillary Cass found that scientific evidence does not support the sterilizing procedures gender extremists demand.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1391200607\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5b017466a5884f29e4e307a44695ca57 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5b017466a5884f29e4e307a44695ca57\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis is an area of remarkably weak evidence, and yet results of studies are exaggerated or misrepresented by people on all sides of the debate to support their viewpoint,\u201d Cass wrote in her forward. \u201cThe reality is that we have no good evidence on the long-term outcomes of interventions to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/researcher-debunks-claim-trans-youths-mental-health-improves-with-gender-affirming-care\/\" title=\"Researcher Debunks Claim Trans Youth\u2019s Mental Health Improves With \u2018Gender Affirming\u2019 Care\">manage <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-biden-texas-categorizing-transgender-procedures-child-abuse-is-government-overreach-at-its-worst\/\" title=\"Joe Biden: Texas Categorizing Transgender Procedures 'Child Abuse' Is 'Government Overreach at Its Worst'\">gender-related distress<\/a><\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The report, commissioned by England\u2019s National Health Service in 2020, says chemical and surgical interventions on children deemed gender dysphoric does not lead to positive outcomes. The report warns the NHS to take \u201can extremely cautious clinical approach and a strong clinical rationale\u201d when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-tosses-trans-lawmakers-case-after-attempted-lawsuit-against-montana-house-of-reps\/\" title=\"Trans lawmaker's case against Montana House of Reps dismissed by judge\">giving cross-sex hormones<\/a> to anyone under the age of 18.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTransitioning\u201d children socially, cutting off their breasts or genitalia, and chemically castrating them wreak <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/28\/these-detransitioners-have-a-message-for-distressed-girls-mangling-your-body-is-a-sickness-not-a-cure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">irreversible damage<\/a> on their bodies and minds. In some cases, it can leave kids with <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/28\/these-detransitioners-have-a-message-for-distressed-girls-mangling-your-body-is-a-sickness-not-a-cure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">harrowing<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/abigailshrier.substack.com\/p\/not-a-kitchen-table-issue-jen-psaki?s=r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">life-threatening<\/a> consequences. <\/p>\n<p>Cass was president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health from 2012 to 2015. She said it\u2019s important to establish that \u201cparents are not unconsciously influencing the child\u2019s gender expression\u201d and noted children with \u201cgender distress\u201d should be screened for various \u201cneurodevelopmental conditions\u201d before being prescribed hormones. She also urged the NHS to \u201censure there is provision for people considering detransition, recognising that they may not wish to reengage with the services whose care they were previously under.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a8a412d57293227070eb146f29d736de fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-a8a412d57293227070eb146f29d736de\"><\/div>\n<p>One of the biggest bombshell admissions in Cass\u2019s report is that many children struggling with their sex grow out of it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe current evidence base suggests that children who present with gender incongruence at a young age are most likely to desist before puberty, although for a small number the incongruence will persist,\u201d the report states. \u201cParents and families need support and advice about how best to support their children in a balanced and non-judgemental way.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>A recently published Dutch study found most children and young adults with \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/health\/article-13245289\/Trans-man-35-changed-gender-THREE-TIMES-using-drugs-surgery-wants-people-stop-treating-transitioning-taboo-just-experimenting-exploring-body.html\">gender non-contentedness\u201d<\/a> eventually outgrew that feeling of insecurity by 25 years old. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor most young people, a medical pathway will not be the best way to manage their gender-related distress. For those young people for whom a medical pathway is clinically indicated, it is not enough to provide this without also addressing wider mental health and\/or psychosocially challenging problems,\u201d Cass <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/society\/2024\/apr\/10\/thousands-of-children-unsure-of-gender-identity-let-down-by-nhs-report-finds\">told The Guardian<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-da536dc8de571ef5a60eaead0fe0e8c7 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-da536dc8de571ef5a60eaead0fe0e8c7\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.psychiatry.org\/psychiatrists\/diversity\/education\/transgender-and-gender-nonconforming-patients\/gender-dysphoria-diagnosis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Medical<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/nicic.gov\/weblink\/being-transgender-no-longer-mental-disorder-apa-2012\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">health organizations<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/5596845\/world-health-organization-transgender-identity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">around the globe<\/a> have made a big show in the last decade of declassifying transgenderism as a disorder despite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC6830528\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">research<\/a> showing strong links between gender-bending and a multitude of mental health issues.<\/p>\n<p>Activists have weaponized <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/10\/the-studies-cited-to-support-gender-bending-kids-are-largely-junk-science\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">junk studies<\/a> to insist that young, physically healthy individuals permanently sterilize themselves. They claim \u201caffirming\u201d a person\u2019s rejection of his or her God-given sex can fix mental health problems, <a href=\"https:\/\/publications.aap.org\/pediatrics\/article-abstract\/141\/5\/e20173845\/37843\/Mental-Health-of-Transgender-and-Gender?redirectedFrom=fulltext\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">even those that predate gender dysphoria<\/a>, and reduce suicide risk.<\/p>\n<p>Cass\u2019s study, however, found that many studies on the topic are of \u201cpoor quality.\u201d Studies that did meet adequate scientific standards drew opposite conclusions about the effects of \u201ctransitioning.\u201d Cass noted that, contrary to dominant media and government narratives, activist-pushed transgender interventions do not help a gender-dysphoric individual\u2019s suicidal ideation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been suggested that hormone treatment reduces the elevated risk of death by suicide in this population, but the evidence found did not support this conclusion,\u201d the report states. <\/p>\n<p>Those who have warned against the dangers of extremist gender ideology for years celebrated the study as a win for children. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor years, activists have relied on their own consensus to push experimental procedures on kids, but as the years have gone on, the body of evidence continues to grow in favor of biological reality and common sense,\u201d Alliance Defending Freedom Vice President Jonathan Scruggs said in a statement. \u201cThe independent Cass report surveys numerous studies across many countries and many years and rightly concludes that this field is marked by \u2018remarkably weak evidence\u2019 where practitioners have \u2018abandoned normal clinical approaches\u2019 harming children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Author J.K. Rowling, who <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/04\/02\/j-k-rowling-dares-scottish-police-to-arrest-her-for-breaking-law-that-makes-it-a-hate-crime-to-call-a-man-a-man\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recently challenged <\/a>Scotland\u2019s new \u201chate crime\u201d law that punishes people for saying men can\u2019t become women, expressed frustration that Cass\u2019 realizations were already being rejected by leftist media and Hollywood. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I sound angry, it\u2019s because I\u2019m bloody angry,\u201d Rowling <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jk_rowling\/status\/1778105223728255439\">wrote<\/a> on X. \u201cI read Cass this morning and my anger\u2019s been mounting all day.
