The Environmental Protection Agency\u2063 has passed a groundbreaking rule to control &#8220;forever \u2064chemicals&#8221; in public water utilities. This is the initial \u2064step towards limiting PFAS in drinking water, addressing their persistent and harmful nature, following a report by the\u200d Associated Press. Consequently, PFAS\u200d regulation in public water systems is set to become more stringent.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/epa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Environmental Protection Agency<\/a> finalized a rule on Wednesday that will limit the amount of \u201cforever chemicals\u201d in public water utilities.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/regulation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>rule<\/a> will be the first to limit the amount of PFAS, or perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl chemicals, in drinking water, according to the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/forever-chemicals-pfas-pollution-epa-drinking-water-1c8804288413a73bb7b99fc866c8fa51\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Associated Press<\/a><\/em>. PFAS do not degrade and can negatively affect the public\u2019s health, according to the report, and was announced as being part of President Joe Biden\u2019s \u201ccancer moonshot\u201d initiative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDrinking water contaminated with PFAS has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jd-vance-blames-the-childless-left-for-the-decline-of-the-american-family\/\" title=\"JD Vance Blames The \u2018Childless Left\u2019 For The Decline Of The American Family\">plagued communities<\/a> across this country for too long,\u201d EPA Administrator Michael Regan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epa.gov\/newsreleases\/biden-harris-administration-finalizes-first-ever-national-drinking-water-standard\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a>. \u201cThat is why President Biden has made tackling PFAS a top priority, investing historic resources to address these harmful chemicals and protect communities nationwide.
