A U.K. judge ruled in March that Assange cannot be extradited to the U.S. without guarantees that he will not receive a death sentence.<\/p>\n<p>Biden hosted Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/white-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>White House<\/a> on Wednesday for a state visit, in which he was asked by reporters about the case. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re considering it,\u201d Biden said when asked about Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese\u2019s request that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/governor-ron-desantis-while-other-states-are-locking-people-down-we-are-lifting-them-up\/\" title=\"Governor Ron DeSantis: While Other States Are Locking People Down, We Are Lifting Them Up\">president end<\/a> the prosecution of Assange, an Australian citizen.<\/p>\n<p>The White House has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/memo-indicates-biden-admin-does-not-see-border-surge-ending-soon\/\" title=\"Memo Indicates Biden Admin Does Not See Border Surge Ending Soon\">largely avoided commenting<\/a> on the charges against Assange, which include violations of the Espionage Act and conspiracy to commit computer intrusion.<\/p>\n<p>In 2010, Assange published footage of U.S. airstrikes in Baghdad, Iraq, diplomatic cables, and classified communications from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, all provided by former U.S. Army intelligence officer Chelsea Manning.<\/p>\n<p>Assange eventually was granted political amnesty at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London in 2012, but his amnesty was revoked seven years later in 2019. I hope it can be resolved amicably.
