Walter explains these branches create \u201cpop-up\u201d groups that move funds to accomplish the aims of their donors, who stay anonymous. Capital Research, however, has spent years tracing the money.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/capitalresearch.org\/article\/who-are-arabellas-big-dollar-donors\/#:~:text=The%20Bill%20and%20Melinda%20Gates,nonprofits%20%2425%20million%20in%202020.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">largest donor<\/a> to Arabella groups is the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which gave the group more than $456 million \u2014 including $127 million in 2020 \u2014 since 2008, according to the book, which draws on years of research from Capital Research. The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation gave Arabella nonprofits close to $28 million in 2020, and the Rockefeller Foundation gave them a total of $15 million. But thanks to the work of Walter and Capital Research, they \u2014 and their plans \u2014 are now known publicly.<\/p>\n<p>The Democracy Alliance is a network of elite left-wing election influencers. Walter explains its \u201cambitious goals\u201d ahead of the 2020 election, when its network partners <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/app\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Democracy-Alliance-2020-Investment-Portfolio-Report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">committed<\/a> $146 million to \u201cprogressive infrastructure map\u201d groups.<\/p>\n<p>Wyss, a member of the Democracy Alliance, is like a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-01-25\/meet-the-swiss-billionaire-cast-by-us-conservatives-as-the-new-george-soros\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">new George Soros<\/a> figure. He commands the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themainewire.com\/2023\/09\/who-is-hansjorg-wyss-the-swiss-national-bankrolling-progressive-media-and-politics-in-maine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$2.7 billion<\/a> Wyss Foundation, which <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/04\/04\/inside-one-dark-money-fueled-groups-strategy-session-to-target-democrat-voting-blocs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">worked<\/a> with John Podesta, former adviser to President Barack Obama, in 2015 to expand the Democratic voter base with election policy. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1bde60b068b96e2edf74fb5c77e4fb35 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1bde60b068b96e2edf74fb5c77e4fb35\"><\/div>\n<p>The Daily Caller <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2016\/02\/28\/exclusive-clintons-swiss-ally-gave-big-bucks-to-u-s-campaigns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">revealed<\/a> in 2016 that Wyss, a Swiss <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/hansjorg-wyss-common-cause-dark-money-megadonor-6ac0b368831d7f3fec910f89224c7d5f#:~:text=The%20fund%20has%20enabled%20Wyss,citizens%20contributing%20to%20political%20campaigns.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">citizen<\/a>, had given $41,000 to Democratic causes in violation of the federal government\u2019s ban on foreign nationals giving to political campaigns. Americans for Public Trust filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/app\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Wyss-Foundation-FEC-Complaint-Americans-for-Public-Trust.-05.15.21.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">complaint<\/a> in 2021 alleging illegal election interference from Wyss, the Wyss Foundation, and Arabella\u2019s Sixteen Thirty Fund and New Venture Fund.<\/p>\n<p>The Wyss Foundation helped start Arabella\u2019s The Hub Project, which aims to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cnn-plunged-into-conflict-of-interest-over-cuomo-sexual-harassment-probe\/\" title=\"CNN Plunged Into Conflict of Interest Over Cuomo Sexual Harassment Probe\">shape media coverage<\/a> to boost support for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/04\/13\/business\/media\/wyss-tribune-company-buyer.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Democrats<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The New Venture Fund in 2022 gave more than $21 million to America Votes, which recently hosted a summit of officials and influencers to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/04\/04\/inside-one-dark-money-fueled-groups-strategy-session-to-target-democrat-voting-blocs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shape<\/a> election policy for Democratic victory. <\/p>\n<p>In 2020, the New Venture Fund <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/new-venture-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gave<\/a> $24.8 million to the Center for Tech and Civic Life, to which Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg gave <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/center-for-tech-and-civic-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$350 million<\/a> to boost Democratic turnout in the 2020 election. The same year, it gave $675,000 to the Center for Election Innovation and Research (CEIR).<\/p>\n<p>Pierre Omidyar, the founder of eBay, is also the founder of Democracy Fund. Walter exposes the group\u2019s connections to left-wing election influence groups like CTCL and CEIR.<\/p>\n<p>Democracy Fund, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techandciviclife.org\/key-funders-and-partners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">partners<\/a> with CTCL, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/hopewell-fund\/\">shuttled<\/a> $280,000 through Arabella to CEIR in 2017, according to Influence Watch. CEIR received <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/center-for-election-innovation-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$70 million<\/a> in Zuckbucks in 2020, the same year the group <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/20\/report-eric-deemed-168000-dead-or-relocated-virginians-eligible-but-unregistered-to-vote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">obtained<\/a> Virginia voter data.<\/p>\n<p>According to a former head of the Department of Justice\u2019s Civil Rights Division, CEIR Executive Director David Becker is a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/center-for-election-innovation-research\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hardcore leftist<\/a>\u201d who \u201ccouldn\u2019t stand conservatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Center for Secure and Modern Elections (CSME) is also a major player. The group advocates for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-republican-state-senators-propose-bills-to-end-no-excuse-mail-voting-automatic-registration\/\" title=\"Georgia Republican State Senators Propose Bills to End No-excuse Mail Voting, Automatic Registration\">automatic voter registration<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/center-for-secure-and-modern-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">funnels<\/a> funding between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sen-hawley-files-counter-complaint-against-senate-dems\/\" title=\"Sen. Hawley files counter-complaint against Senate Dems\">dark money groups<\/a>. CSME is a project of Arabella\u2019s New Venture Fund, which the Louisiana attorney general <a href=\"https:\/\/lailluminator.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/2020.10.02-AG-Petition.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sued<\/a> along with CTCL following the 2020 election alleging illegal interference. <\/p>\n<p>While the world of election funding is complicated, Walter makes it easily accessible to the reader by tying the dollars and details together into a cohesive narrative.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Abortion<\/h2>\n<p>Walter follows the big-name, big-money characters as they develop in support of the abortion industry. <\/p>\n<p>Warren Buffett is one of the most influential figures in abortion funding. Walter begins his analysis of the billionaire with a more human angle, demonstrating his deep <a href=\"https:\/\/capitalresearch.org\/article\/terror-of-the-unborn-part-1\/\">fear<\/a> of overpopulation. <\/p>\n<p>The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation has given $4 billion to pro-abortion and pro-population control groups in the last 20 years, according to Capital Research. Its <a href=\"https:\/\/capitalresearch.org\/article\/warren-buffetts-foundation-has-poured-4-billion-into-pro-abortion-advocacy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">grants<\/a> include: $675 million to the Planned Parenthood Federation of America; $416 million to Population Services International; $91 million to EngenderHealth, formerly the Sterilization League of New Jersey; and $36 million to Gynuity Health.<\/p>\n<p>Gynuity tested abortifacients on women in poor countries such as <a href=\"https:\/\/gynuity.org\/resources\/second-trimester-ma-with-mifepristone-followed-by-unlimited-dosing-of-bucca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Armenia<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/gynuity.org\/resources\/spermicide-used-alone-for-contraception\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Burkina Faso<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/gynuity.org\/resources\/efficacy-and-acceptability-of-early-mifepristone-misoprostol-medical-aborti\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ukraine<\/a> in the 2010s. The group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/hopewell-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">received<\/a> $287,500 from Arabella\u2019s abortion branch, the Hopewell Fund, in 2017. According to Influence Watch, the Hopewell Fund <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/hopewell-fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">supports<\/a> expanding abortion and donates to pro-abortion causes.<\/p>\n<p>The Buffett Foundation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/susan-thompson-buffett-foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gave<\/a> $77 million to Arabella\u2019s New Venture Fund and $66 million to its Hopewell Fund by 2020. <\/p>\n<p>Buffett and Arabella are not alone. Buffett is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gatesfoundation.org\/about\/leadership\/warren-buffett\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">trustee<\/a> of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which sends <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gatesfoundation.org\/ideas\/media-center\/press-releases\/1999\/10\/international-planned-parenthood-federation991013\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">millions<\/a> to support abortion worldwide. While Walter holds the Gates accountable for contributing to the abortion industry, he is fair in acknowledging the foundation\u2019s past <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catholicnewsagency.com\/news\/29883\/gates-abortion-funding-drop-met-with-praise-caution\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hesitation<\/a> about the matter.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Climate<\/h2>\n<p>Arabella has been involved in climate issues from the start. Walter begins his book in 2008 in Whitefish, Montana, with a group called \u201cResponsible Trails America\u201d trying to close motorbike trails on public land. That group was a front for Arabella.<\/p>\n<p>Walter uses this example to draw a striking contrast between where Arabella was and where it is now. The network has since grown exponentially, taking in $1.26 billion in revenue in 2020, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/for-profit\/arabella-advisors\/#:~:text=Arabella%20Advisors%20is%20a%20strategic,California%2C%20and%20Chicago%2C%20Illinois.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">InfluenceWatch<\/a>. While Arabella\u2019s operations have expanded to nearly every corner of American life, many of its activities still relate to climate. <\/p>\n<p>The Western Values Project (WVP) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/western-values-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">began<\/a> as a project of Arabella\u2019s New Venture Fund. It maintained a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davidbernhardt.org\/scandalinbushadmin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a> attacking former President Donald Trump\u2019s Department of the Interior, including then-Secretary Ryan Zinke of Montana, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national\/health-science\/interior-secretary-zinke-resigns-amid-investigations\/2018\/12\/15\/481f9104-0077-11e9-ad40-cdfd0e0dd65a_story.html#:~:text=Interior%20Department%20Secretary%20Ryan%20Zinke,and%20his%20conduct%20in%20office.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">resigned<\/a> due to public pressure. When Deputy Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt took over as secretary, the WVP pivoted to attack him.<\/p>\n<p>More recently, federal attempts to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/01\/09\/business\/gas-stove-ban-federal-agency\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ban<\/a> gas stoves <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/rewiring-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">point back<\/a> to Rewiring America, a project of Arabella\u2019s Windward Fund. Rewiring America pushes the federal government to <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/rewiring-america\/rewire-america-abac27ec281c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">transform<\/a> American homes to rely entirely on electricity through incentives and societal \u201cmobilization.\u201d The Rockefeller Brothers Fund <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbf.org\/grantees\/windward-fund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">gave<\/a> the group $300,000 in 2020, and former Rep. Stacey Abrams, D-Georgia, is a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/staceyabrams?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">senior counsel<\/a>\u201d for the group. <\/p>\n<p>Walter offers an interesting narrative, with evidence connecting the most important anonymous influencers in areas including elections, abortion, and climate activism.
