Vice President \u2064Kamala Harris \u200clinked the\u2062 ruling to former President Donald \u2064Trump.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a> condemned the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/arizona\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arizona <\/a>Supreme Court ruling on Tuesday that upheld an 1864 law banning most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">abortions<\/a> in the state. <\/p>\n<p>The law only makes exceptions for abortions in which the mother faces immediate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fda-lifts-restriction-on-remote-prescriptions-of-abortion-drugs\/\" title=\"FDA Lifts Restriction on Remote Prescriptions of Abortion Drugs\">life-threatening conditions<\/a> while mandating a prison sentence of between two and five years for a healthcare provider who performs the procedure unlawfully.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMillions of Arizonans will soon live under an even more extreme and dangerous abortion ban, which fails to protect women even when their health is at risk or in tragic cases of rape or incest,\u201d Biden said in a statement soon after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/2959358\/arizona-supreme-court-upholds-civil-war-era-abortion-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>ruling was announced<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Biden has long considered himself a champion of \u201cwomen\u2019s right to choose\u201d on the topic of abortion, which he reiterated in his statement. <\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cThis cruel ban was first enacted in 1864 \u2014 more than 150 years ago, before Arizona was even a state and well before women had secured the right to vote,\u201d he continued. \u201cThis ruling is a result of the extreme agenda of Republican elected officials who are committed to ripping away women\u2019s freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Vice President Kamala Harris laid the full blame of the Arizona ruling on former President Donald Trump in a statement Tuesday afternoon. \u201cArizona just rolled back the clock to a time before women could vote \u2014 and, by his own admission, there\u2019s one person responsible: Donald Trump,\u201d Harris said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis even more extreme and dangerous ban criminalizes almost all abortion care in the state and puts women\u2019s lives at risk. It provides no exceptions for rape, incest, or health,\u201d Harris continued. \u201cIt\u2019s a reality because of Donald Trump, who brags about being \u2018proudly the person responsible\u2019 for overturning <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>, and made it possible for states to enforce cruel bans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Arizona Supreme Court ruling comes as Arizona for Abortion Access, a coalition of reproductive rights organizations, announced last week it had secured more than 384,000 valid signatures needed to get abortion on the ballot in November. <\/p>\n<p>Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democratic-sen-jacky-rosens-campaign-drops-thousands-on-fine-dining-and-ritzy-hotels\/\" title=\"Sen. Jacky Rosen's campaign splurges on lavish dining and luxury hotels.\">reelection campaign spent<\/a> much of Monday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/2957475\/biden-campaign-pounces-trump-abortion-stance-new-ad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>slamming<\/a> Trump for claiming states should decide on abortion and dodging where he stands on a federal abortion ban. <\/p>\n<p>The campaign released a 60-ad \u201cWillow\u2019s Box\u201d ad blaming Trump for a Texas woman nearly dying after she was unable to receive an abortion as she suffered a miscarriage.<\/p>\n<p>Campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez\u00a0released a memo arguing Trump would ban abortion nationwide. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDonald Trump brags about being the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/up-for-debate-trump-desantis-and-2024-gop-hopefuls-stances-on-abortion\/\" title=\"Debate: Trump, DeSantis, and 2024 GOP candidates' views on abortion.\">anti-abortion president<\/a> in American history, and he\u2019s right.
