They pinned his \u201cstates\u2019 rights\u201d claim as a means of giving Democrats and abortion giants a free pass to wreak destruction on Republican states using deceptive ballot measures. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1887099815\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-8289ecb740c3cef1d5a5f707e12810fc fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-8289ecb740c3cef1d5a5f707e12810fc\"><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/esaagar\/status\/1777408845444170019\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Corporate<\/a> and some <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/toddstarnes\/status\/1777324260006195420\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">conservative<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/joelpollak\/status\/1777454923980132824\">media<\/a> mouthpieces quickly painted that criticism as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-biden-50-years-of-lies-and-gaffes\/\" title=\"Joe Biden: 50 Years Of Lies and Gaffes\">political flip-flop<\/a> rather than a goal that\u2019s been at the forefront of the movement for more than 50 years. They acted like it was a bait and switch that pro-lifers were only partially satisfied with the <em>Dobbs v. Jackson<\/em> ruling as a victory for life in the womb.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile there can be some sincere outrage over Trump\u2019s callous flip-flop in an election year, most of the feigned shock is for show,\u201d Time magazine <a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/6965211\/donald-trump-abortion-religious-conservatives-politics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">asserted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Corporate media had a similar reaction on a much greater scale in 2022 shortly after Sen. Lindsey Graham introduced legislation that would bring U.S. abortion law up to speed <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/13\/make-democrats-defend-their-abortion-extremism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">with most European countries<\/a>, which strictly limit abortions somewhere around 12 weeks of gestation.<\/p>\n<p>Only <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/16\/poll-majority-of-americans-still-reject-democrats-unlimited-abortion-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">37 percent of U.S. adults<\/a> believe abortion should be allowed during the second trimester, which begins at 13 weeks. Yet Democrats, the corporate press, and even some Republicans claimed that even the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/15\/12-facts-everyone-should-know-about-babies-at-15-weeks-of-gestation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tamest of federal laws limiting abortion to 15 weeks gestation<\/a>, more than three months into pregnancy, is a losing issue. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4113116d3526d6967b3adf0901e3f7a1 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-4113116d3526d6967b3adf0901e3f7a1\"><\/div>\n<p>Even now, those within Trump\u2019s campaign and Senate Republicans, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2024\/04\/09\/trump-abortion-announcement-states\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according to the Washington Post<\/a>, say \u201cbacking a national ban would be further inserting [Trump] into an issue that has been politically damaging for Republicans.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Pro-lifers supporting federal limits on abortion is not an earth-shattering shift in policy or a sudden exposure of a secret agenda. Protecting unborn babies and their mothers on the national level has been a consistent goal of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/covid-has-killed-her-hundreds-of-thousands-but-abortion-has-killed-her-tens-of-millions\/\" title=\"COVID Has Killed Her Hundreds of Thousands, But Abortion Has Killed Her Tens of Millions\">pro-life movement<\/a> since its inception.<\/p>\n<p>The idea is that if life begins at conception, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epm.org\/resources\/2011\/Apr\/27\/when-does-life-begin-quotes-many-sources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">modern science<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/acpeds.org\/position-statements\/when-human-life-begins\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">medicine<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/21pdf\/19-1392_6j37.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">many states<\/a>, and even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/learn\/pregnancy\/how-pregnancy-happens\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">abortion giant Planned Parenthood<\/a> agree it does, we are morally and logically obligated to shield it from harm in any way possible. <\/p>\n<p>Leaving abortion limits up to the states does not fulfill this goal. Instead, it makes mothers and unborn babies in even the most Republican of states vulnerable to the schemes of Democrats and abortion activists, who have figured out how to exploit weaknesses in states\u2019 constitutional amendment processes to codify unlimited abortion through all nine months. Anyone who settles for that reality does not truly believe the very premise that drives the pro-life movement. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-15600f6aa6d6bb107824ac3e8e413e7b fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-15600f6aa6d6bb107824ac3e8e413e7b\"><\/div>\n<p>Republicans like Trump often shift their stance on abortion to meet the political moment, an action deserving criticism. The pro-life movement as a whole, however, hasn\u2019t changed. <\/p>\n<p>For decades, the people sworn to protect life in the womb have consistently called for a federal policy that would spare women and babies the emotional, physical, and fatal turmoil that abortion causes.<\/p>\n<p>For pro-lifers motivated to live out their principles, <em>Dobbs<\/em> was only the beginning.
