No one answered and these two people should have and sure didn\u2019t,\u201d Matthews <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/us\/live-news\/james-jennifer-crumbley-sentencing-04-09-24\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a>. \u201cThese convictions confirm repeated acts or lack of acts that could have halted an oncoming runaway train.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors argued the Crumbleys ignored warning signs displayed by then-15-year-old Ethan Crumbley, who was sentenced in 2022 to life without parole. <\/p>\n<p>The Crumbleys purchased for their son a Sig Sauer 9 mm handgun as an early Christmas present, and prosecutors proved the gun was not locked up properly. <\/p>\n<p>On the morning of the mass shooting on Nov. 30, 2021, the Crumbleys\u00a0met with the school\u2019s guidance counselor to discuss the troubling behavior of their son.
