Spiro is a prominent lawyer who has represented high-profile figures, including Elon Musk, Jay-Z, and Alec Baldwin. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Spiro\u2019s appointment came just weeks after Sylvia Hinds-Radix, head of the law department, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/03\/19\/city-law-department-will-defend-mayor-adams-in-sexual-assault-case-00147827\"><span>determined<\/span><\/a><span>  the city would pay for Adams\u2019s legal representation as he was a city employee at the time of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/its-time-for-the-people-of-new-york-to-determine-andrew-cuomos-fate\/\" title=\"It\u2019s Time For The People Of New York To Determine Andrew Cuomo\u2019s Fate\">alleged sexual assault<\/a>. The law department said it will be <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/04\/08\/adams-lawyer-lawsuit-nyc-00151112\"><span>charged<\/span><\/a><span>  $250 an hour for work by law partners and $175 for work by associates in Adams&#8217;s case.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Adams allegedly sexually assaulted a colleague while he was working for Transit Police in 1993. Lorna Beach-Mathura filed a lawsuit on March 18 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/nyc-mayor-accused-of-1993-sexual-assault\/\"><span>claiming<\/span><\/a><span>  Adams begged her to perform oral sex in his car before masturbating and ejaculating on her.
