Sportswriter Jemele \u2063Hill criticized Dwayne \u200c\u201cThe \u2063Rock\u201d Johnson for his \u2063decision to \u2064not endorse any \u200ccandidate in the upcoming 2024 elections, calling it \u200d&#8221;political cowardice.&#8221; Even though Johnson backed Joe Biden in the\u2064 2020 election, he explained that\u200b he has chosen to abstain from endorsements moving forward. Hill \u2062viewed \u200bthis move\u2063 as a notable yet noncommittal position.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>Sports writer Jemele Hill spoke out against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/dwayne-the-rock-johnson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson<\/a> opting not to endorse any <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/michigan-republican-who-voted-to-impeach-trump-not-thrilled-democrats-are-backing-his-challenger\/\" title=\"Michigan Republican Who Voted to Impeach Trump Not Thrilled Democrats Are Backing His Challenger\">candidate ahead<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>2024 elections<\/a>, calling it \u201cpolitical cowardice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Johnson had endorsed then-candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a> prior to the 2020 presidential election, explaining in a recent interview that he felt it was his job to use his influence as a celebrity to endorse Biden. The actor and wrestler then added that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/2955086\/biden-loses-dwayne-the-rock-johnson-endorsement-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>he does not plan to endorse anyone<\/a> in the November elections, a move Hill called \u201cthe most statement non-statement I\u2019ve ever heard.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd that\u2019s the kind of, frankly, political cowardice that\u2019s hard to respect,\u201d Hill said on <em>The Dan Le Batard Show<\/em>. \u201cI don\u2019t understand how Joe Biden is the divisive one when what he\u2019s running against is pushing bigotry, xenophobia, every other phobia and \u2018ism\u2019 you could possibly name. That is what they\u2019re literally campaigning on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hill added that Johnson should not have issued a statement on the elections that would make him appear to align with \u201cthe side that is only pushing division.\u201d She went on to say that side has no policy beyond getting people to hate others.<\/p>\n<p>In an appearance last week on <em>Fox and Friends First<\/em>, Johnson also revealed that he was not happy with the state of the United States. While the former wrestler said he was honored to have the opportunity, he said, \u201cThat\u2019s never been my goal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Johnson is not the only celebrity to announce that he will not endorse any candidate in 2024, as rapper Cardi B announced last November that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2449271\/cardi-b-slams-new-york-city-budget-cuts-says-she-wont-endorse-biden-in-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>she would not provide an endorsement<\/a>.
