And now a man whose name is listed as one of the signature gatherers says his name was also forged and claims he\u2019s not involved.<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Martin is seeking to get on the ballot in Arizona\u2019s 1st Congressional District, which includes part of Maricopa County. Martin needed roughly 800 signatures from registered voters to qualify, and her team reportedly submitted approximately 1,200 signatures.<\/p>\n<p>But among the signers\u2019 names were at least four people who claim they never signed any document supporting Martin\u2019s candidacy, the Arizona Republic reported after speaking with those voters. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is definitely not me,\u201d Phoenix resident Stephen Riordan said. \u201cNot even close to my signature. That\u2019s very upsetting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shannon Speagle and two other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/atlantas-upscale-neighborhood-funds-much-of-the-city-targeted-by-crime-and-ignored-by-politicians-residents-may-declare-independence\/\" title=\"Atlanta\u2019s Upscale Neighborhood Funds Much Of The City. Targeted By Crime And Ignored By Politicians, Residents May Declare Independence.\">residents told<\/a> the Arizona Republic a similar story.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m disappointed,\u201d Speagle reportedly said. \u201cIt completely delegitimizes this candidacy.\u201d According to the outlet:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Speagle said she got in touch with three of her other neighbors on Friday after learning through The Republic they also were listed on the petition. All three said the images of their signatures were \u2018bogus,\u2019 too, Speagle said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The four signatures were allegedly collected by three different people. <\/p>\n<p>Nine individuals were listed as conducting the signature gathering. One of the nine names was Jeremy Garrett, and as the Republic noted, a Jeremy Garrett on LinkedIn is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/jeremy-garrett-88301a1a6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">listed<\/a> as working for the leftist group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ourvoiceourvote.us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Our Voice Our Vote<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But in an update to its story on Monday, the Republic said Garrett told reporters he had no idea who Martin was and was not involved at all with the effort to collect signatures. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know why I\u2019m being involved in something I didn\u2019t even do,\u201d Garrett told The Republic. \u201cI\u2019ve never gathered signatures before. I\u2019ve never done any signing of anything. I\u2019ve never collected ballots for people. I\u2019ve not signed anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Garrett claimed the signature next to his name was also forged and \u201cpresented photos of his passport and driver\u2019s license signed simply with the letter \u2018J,\u2019 contrary to the petition paperwork, which is signed with his first and last name.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Secretary of State Katie Hobbs did not respond to The Federalist\u2019s request for more information.<\/p>\n<p>The Arizona Republic has previously <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/Lh248\">described<\/a> Our Voice Our Vote as a \u201cdark money\u201d organization \u201cthat does not have to name its donors.\u201d Our Voice Our Vote is funded in part by Democracy Alliance and by the Open Society Foundation, which is funded by left-wing billionaire George Soros. <\/p>\n<p>Our Voice Our Vote did not respond to an inquiry about the allegations. <\/p>\n<p>Arizona\u2019s 1st Congressional District is currently represented by Republican David Schweikert.
