Families of\u2064 the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/horrified-and-outraged-murder-victims-families-rip-oregon-governor-for-commuting-death-sentences\/\" title=\"\u2018Horrified and Outraged\u2019: Murder Victims\u2019 Families Rip Oregon Governor for Commuting Death Sentences\">victims expressed<\/a> their\u200b sorrow during the sentencing, with emotional testimonies highlighting the devastating impact \u200bof the tragedy.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>The parents of a teenager who shot and killed four Oxford, Michigan, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-education-sec-on-womens-school-sports-we-have-a-legal-responsibility-to-include-transgender-athletes\/\" title=\"Biden Education Sec On Women\u2019s School Sports: We Have a \u2018Legal Responsibility\u2019 to Include Transgender Athletes\">high school students<\/a> in November 2021 have been sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison each.<\/p>\n<p>The parents, who will not be named per Daily Wire policy, were convicted earlier this year of involuntary manslaughter for failing to prevent their son\u2019s shooting, ABC News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GRNTZ0mPn0E\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>. They are the first parents in U.S. history to be convicted and sentenced for crimes related to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fact-check-do-transgender-people-face-an-epidemic-of-violence\/\" title=\"Fact-Check: Are Transgender Individuals Experiencing a 'Violence Epidemic'?\">mass shooting carried<\/a> out by their child.<\/p>\n<p>Their child, who was 15 years old when he shot and killed Oxford High School students Madisyn Baldwin, 17; Tate Myre, 16; Hana St. Juliana, 14; and Justin Shilling, 17, was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to the murders.<\/p>\n<p>At Tuesday\u2019s sentencing, families of the victims spoke about their loved ones, with Baldwin\u2019s mother, Nicole Beausoleil, praising her daughter before condemning the shooter\u2019s parents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you knew the gun was missing, you called the police knowing it was your son who took it. I was having family call every hospital describing what (Madisyn) looked like,\u201d Beausoleil said, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/04\/09\/us\/james-jennifer-crumbley-sentencing\/index.html\">according to CNN<\/a>. \u201cWhen you texted \u2018[shooter] don\u2019t do it,\u2019 I was texting Madisyn, \u2018I love you please call mom.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The shooter\u2019s mother has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/michigan-school-shooters-mom-admits-to-sending-dont-do-it-text-says-it-didnt-relate-to-shooting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">maintained<\/a> that her text to her son was an attempt to keep him from committing suicide after the attack.<\/p>\n<p>Shilling\u2019s father, Craig, said that he lives with \u201cpain, anger, heartache, regret, anxiety, stress\u201d every day as a result of the shooter\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLiterally every single aspect of my life has been affected by this tragedy,\u201d he said, adding, \u201cThe blood of our children is on your hands.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shilling\u2019s mother, Jill Soave, suggested the parents could have prevented the shooting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf only they had done something, your honor, anything, to shift the course of events on November 30, then our four angels would be here today,\u201d she said, according to CNN.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is devastating and heartbreaking that it doesn\u2019t appear that either of you cherished or even wanted your son. But I wholeheartedly wanted and cherished mine,\u201d she added. \u201cYou have failed your son, and you have failed us all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors had asked for 10 to 15 years in state prison for each parent in separate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/04\/03\/us\/crumbley-parents-michigan-shooting-prosecutors-sentence\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sentencing memos<\/a>, saying they showed a \u201cchilling lack of remorse\u201d toward their son\u2019s actions. The shooter\u2019s father went so far as to threaten the prosecutor in multiple jail calls, saying in one, \u201cThere will be retribution, believe me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Defense attorneys had requested much lighter sentences of less than five years each while asking for credit for time served.
