It questions \u2062the\u200c influence of such propaganda on public \u2064perceptions and highlights the complexities of the situation.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><\/p>\n<div class=\"article-content\">\n<p>An unintentionally hilarious \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/2024\/04\/08\/russia-propaganda-us-ukraine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EXCLUSIVE<\/a>\u201d in The Washington Post this week claimed that Russian \u201cpropaganda\u201d is both creating and exacerbating opposition among Republicans to dumping more money into the war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p><em>And next week: The dark foreign influence campaign that has men hating Amy Schumer\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1379911473\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7fcf8a19d13720619f73359589bf8f92 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-7fcf8a19d13720619f73359589bf8f92\"><\/div>\n<p>Apparently, the only reason a plurality of Americans \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/short-reads\/2023\/12\/08\/about-half-of-republicans-now-say-the-us-is-providing-too-much-aid-to-ukraine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">31 percent<\/a>, according to Pew Research \u2014\u00a0feels we\u2019ve financially shackled ourselves a little too tightly to Ukraine, sinking hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars into a conflict we have no way to account for, is that Russia said so.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussia has been ramping up its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/major-media-outlets-continue-to-receive-millions-from-chinese-propaganda-front\/\" title=\"Major Media Outlets Continue To Receive Millions From Chinese Propaganda Front\">propaganda operations<\/a>,\u201d the Post <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/2024\/04\/08\/russia-propaganda-us-ukraine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported Monday<\/a>, \u201cas part of a second front that current and former senior Western officials said has become almost as important for Moscow as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-already-struggling-on-international-stage-as-expert-warns-he-may-be-making-middle-east-war-worse\/\" title=\"Biden Already Struggling On International Stage As Expert Warns He May Be Making Middle East War Worse\">military campaign<\/a> in Ukraine \u2014 especially as congressional approval for further aid has become critical for Kyiv\u2019s ability to continue defending itself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An example of such allegedly poisonous \u201cpropaganda\u201d was included at the very top: a fake American citizen created by a Russian communications firm who would somewhere be cited (presumably on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">social media<\/a>) professing he \u201cdoesn\u2019t support the military aid that the U.S. is giving Ukraine and considers that the money should be spent defending America\u2019s borders and not Ukraine\u2019s. He sees that Biden\u2019s policies are leading the U.S. toward collapse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Raise your hand if you needed someone, real or fake, to tell you the southern border has collapsed as a direct consequence of the president\u2019s policies, and everything else has gone to hell for the same reasons.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ef7c1dcf65237d3d1b58dcbfcd629ab4 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-ef7c1dcf65237d3d1b58dcbfcd629ab4\"><\/div>\n<p>As dumb and gullible as the media believe middle-class Americans are, nobody goes to the grocery store or the gas station right now and finishes up saying, \u201cAll my money is gone, but I really can\u2019t wait to send another $20 billion to Ukraine.\u201d Likewise, nobody sees the shocking images of the hordes of foreign men bum-rushing their way through border agents and thinks, \u201cHey, that\u2019s neat!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Post nonetheless referred darkly to Russia\u2019s \u201cincreasingly sophisticated strategy \u2026 to interfere in the U.S. political system\u201d by way of disseminating messages. The intent, the Post said, is to \u201ccultivate an environment in which \u2018Americans are not ready to sacrifice their well-being for the sake of the conflict in Ukraine\u2019\u2026\u201d (I mean, yeah. I\u2019m not. But the Post and the rest of establishment Washington are ready to do it for you!) The elaborate Russian scheme is said to include \u201cKremlin-linked political strategists and trolls [who] have written thousands of fabricated news articles, social media posts and comments that promote American isolationism, stir fear over the United States\u2019 border security and attempt to amplify U.S. economic and racial tensions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>If Russians are spending a single dollar with the hopes of instigating \u201cracial tensions\u201d in America, someone really needs to tell them to save their money. We\u2019ve already got MSNBC and The Washington Post to do that for us. As for the rest, maybe Democrats can just tell Biden to be a better president. Turning off the internet won\u2019t fix the border or put more money in my account. And I can promise it\u2019s not some marvel of Russian geopolitical ingenuity that Americans aren\u2019t as sexually aroused <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/09\/04\/ukraine-is-neocons-last-gasp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">as Max Boot<\/a> at the thought of Ukraine receiving more funds. The war is two years old with no end in sight, and its continuation serves no benefit to us normal Americans here.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re not exactly living in luxury at the moment. Why would anyone feel the urgency to prioritize the problems of Eastern Europe when Washington won\u2019t fix the fundamental ones we have on our own?<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f1c641d10526560e36737ea82dc2c5e9 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f1c641d10526560e36737ea82dc2c5e9\"><\/div>\n<p>The \u201cRussian propaganda\u201d nonsense is just as big a threat in 2024 as it was in 2016, which, the Post claims, is when the Russian government \u201cdeployed a network of trolls \u2014 creators of fake social media accounts \u2014 to spread disinformation boosting the presidential campaign of Donald Trump and seeking to sabotage Hillary Clinton\u2019s candidacy, including stories using material hacked from the Clinton campaign.\u201d (Notice how the Post conflates real material with \u201cdisinformation\u201d because it hurt the media\u2019s preferred candidate.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>[READ:[READ:<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2019\/04\/01\/heres-why-i-didnt-fall-for-the-russia-trump-conspiracy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Here\u2019s Why I Didn\u2019t Fall For The Russia-Trump Conspiracy<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It was a ridiculous claim in 2016, and it\u2019s a ridiculous claim now. Recall the diabolically genius ways Democrats and the media say Russians spread \u201cdisinformation\u201d back then. One meme during the election <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2017\/11\/01\/us\/politics\/russia-2016-election-facebook.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">promoted<\/a> by the account \u201cArmy of Jesus\u201d depicted Jesus Christ arm-wrestling Satan and was captioned, \u201cSatan: If I win, Clinton wins! Jesus: Not if I can help it!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another ad said, \u201cStop Trump! Stop racism!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A third personal favorite featured an illustration of then-Democrat candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders wearing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonblade.com\/2017\/11\/01\/russia-facebook-ad-sought-influence-lgbt-voters-buff-bernie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">only a Speedo<\/a> and flexing for gay rights.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s worth noting that Democrats lied through their teeth about accounts having originated from hostile actors in Russia, as the \u201cTwitter Files\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/twitter-files-top-democrats-peddled-false-russian-bots-narrative-about-nunes-memo-despite-twitter-warnings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">showed<\/a>.
