Neither did the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2024\/04\/08\/biden-unveils-student-debt-forgiveness-plan-here-is-what-to-know\/73222025007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Milwaukee Journal Sentinel<\/a> in its promotional piece for Biden\u2019s new bailout. At least <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/04\/08\/us\/politics\/biden-student-loans-debt-relief.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The New York Times,<\/a> while performing its role of Biden administration water carrier, acknowledged, \u201cOfficials did not say how much the new plan would cost in coming years, but critics have said it could increase inflation and add to the federal debt by billions of dollars.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>How could it not? The New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/04\/08\/us-news\/biden-harris-in-swing-states-to-tout-146b-in-student-loan-bailouts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">estimated<\/a> Biden\u2019s latest bribe could rival his last failed student debt forgiveness program, a $400 billion-plus unconstitutional behemoth.  <\/p>\n<p>Who is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2024\/04\/08\/president-joe-biden-outlines-new-plans-to-deliver-student-debt-relief-to-over-30-million-americans-under-the-biden-harris-administration\/\">going to pay<\/a> to shrink <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of President Trump\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">student loan debt<\/a> for 23 million borrowers? The complete bailout of 4 million Americans? Debt buyouts of $5,000 or better for 10 million college loan debt holders (More than $50 billion on that account alone)? <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-9ff1ee009fb5e4740fc335f9d6a09fd9 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-9ff1ee009fb5e4740fc335f9d6a09fd9\"><\/div>\n<p>Taxpayers. Taxpayers with student loan debt. Taxpayers without student loan debt. Taxpayers of all kinds, particularly future taxpayers. Because unless Biden and Congress suddenly wake up and begin wholesale cutting government programs to deal with a $34.6 trillion U.S. debt \u2014 and rapidly rising \u2014 this borrower forgiveness plan will be borne by today\u2019s consumers and future generations. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re giving people a chance to make it,\u201d Biden told an assemblage of liberals gathered in a gymnasium at Madison Area Technical College in Wisconsin\u2019s capital city. The Democrat will need to roll up huge vote totals again in the big-government city and left-heavy Dane County if he wants to win Wisconsin, a critical battleground he won by a razor-thin margin in 2020. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, too many Americans \u2014 especially young people \u2014 are saddled with unsustainable debts in exchange for college,\u201d Biden said in a 15-minute <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/search?sca_esv=2a38c7404424a5e9&#038;hl=en&#038;q=Biden+in+wisconsin+April+8%C2%A0&#038;tbm=vid&#038;source=lnms&#038;prmd=nivsmbtz&#038;sa=X&#038;ved=2ahUKEwi38cbh_rOFAxVvhIkEHe0VANwQ0pQJegQIBxAB&#038;biw=1440&#038;bih=784&#038;dpr=2#fpstate=ive&#038;vld=cid:18b3fa34,vid:DT9RJRlUkyU,st:0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mumbling speech<\/a> as a historic solar eclipse darkened wide swaths of the nation\u2019s skies. An ominous sign? <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018Presidential Do-Over\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>You didn\u2019t need special glasses to see that Biden\u2019s bailout, coming less than seven months before the presidential election, is designed to help bailout the octogenarian\u2019s slumping poll numbers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-76a6e3a68aed88f105abfa73bd7ebeaf fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-76a6e3a68aed88f105abfa73bd7ebeaf\"><\/div>\n<p>The most recent RealClearPolitics <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024#!\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">average of polls<\/a> shows Biden and former President Donald Trump in a dead heat nationally. But Trump leads Biden in six of the seven swing states, which have a significant say over who will occupy the White House next year, according to a Wall Street Journal <a href=\"https:\/\/s.wsj.net\/public\/resources\/documents\/WSJ_Swing_States_Partial_March_2024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">poll<\/a>. Biden leads only in Wisconsin, by 3 percentage points, according to the poll. Trump leads by as much as 8 points in North Carolina, and as few as 2 points in Michigan.  <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden wants to use your tax dollars to buy votes because\u00a0more and more young people\u00a0are supporting President Trump,\u201d Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gop.com\/press-release\/bankrupting-america-tour-madison-wisconsin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a>. He called Biden\u2019s trip to Wisconsin the Bankrupting American Tour. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden\u2019s student loan bailout for the wealthy was already\u00a0struck down\u00a0by the Supreme Court and his policies are driving\u00a0historic inflation,\u201d Whatley added. <\/p>\n<p>Indeed. Biden\u2019s previous $400 billion student debt bailout order aimed at 43 million borrowers was released in the summer of 2022, months before the midterm elections. The Supreme Court struck down his executive fiat, declaring it an unconstitutional overreach of the executive branch. Biden has since dabbled around the edges, waving his presidential pen to knock out smaller amounts of outstanding student loan payments. <\/p>\n<p>The Times called it a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/04\/08\/us\/politics\/biden-student-loans-debt-relief.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">presidential do-over<\/a>.\u201d That\u2019s not a thing. At least it doesn\u2019t appear to be a legal thing. <\/p>\n<p>Last month, Kansas led 11 states in a <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/student-loan-cancellation-debt-lawsuit-republicans-biden-b60d13539b2f2aef2869d56e63f33a3b#:~:text=The%20lawsuit%20asks%20a%20judge,South%20Carolina%2C%20Texas%20and%20Utah.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> against Biden\u2019s so-called <a href=\"https:\/\/dojmt.gov\/attorney-general-knudsen-files-lawsuit-against-bidens-illegal-student-debt-relief-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SAVE Plan<\/a>, which has canceled loans for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2024\/04\/08\/president-joe-biden-outlines-new-plans-to-deliver-student-debt-relief-to-over-30-million-americans-under-the-biden-harris-administration\/#:~:text=Already%20the%20Administration%20has%20canceled,for%20at%20least%2010%20years.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more than 150,000 borrowers<\/a>, according to the White House. The states charge that the president has again overstepped his authority and defied the Supreme Court. <\/p>\n<p>The Job Creators Network Foundation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jobcreatorsnetwork.com\/press_releases\/supreme-court-strikes-down-biden-administrations-student-loan-bailout\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sued<\/a> the Biden administration over its debt cancellation initiative struck down by the high court. The lawsuit, filed in Texas federal court, blocked the bailout at the district level and halted the application process, \u201callowing the legal challenge to go to the Supreme Court,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jobcreatorsnetwork.com\/press_releases\/supreme-court-strikes-down-biden-administrations-student-loan-bailout\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according to<\/a> the conservative advocacy organization. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018A Blank Check\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Elaine Parker, president of the Job Creators Network, said Biden\u2019s latest bailout suffers from the same fundamental problems. Faso <\/a>laid out the Obama-inflicted wound in September 2022. <\/p>\n<p>The New York Republican noted that Obama promoted the <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/WN\/Politics\/health-care-obama-signs-student-loan-overhaul-legislation\/story?id=10239569\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">federal takeover of student lending as <\/a>part of the bill that brought us Obamacare \u2014 the Affordable Care Act \u2014 in 2010. Another example of why you don\u2019t <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/opinion\/blogs\/peter-roff\/2010\/03\/09\/pelosi-pass-health-reform-so-you-can-find-out-whats-in-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pull a Pelosi <\/a>and pass a bill \u201cso you can find out what\u2019s in it.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt that time, Obama proclaimed that by cutting out the \u2018middleman\u2019, taxpayers would save $68 billion. The program didn\u2019t save any money. Loan defaults increased. Colleges accelerated increases in tuitions and fees and student debt skyrocketed. Today\u2019s student loan mess was caused largely by Obama\u2019s failed program.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As he pitched his new attempted end-around of the Supreme Court ruling, Biden surely hoped the student loan debt-laden \u201cfolks\u201d in swing-state Wisconsin would repay his taxpayer-funded generosity with their votes in November. The White says the new program could take effect \u201cearly this fall,\u201d or not long before the election, the the New York Post <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/04\/08\/us-news\/biden-harris-in-swing-states-to-tout-146b-in-student-loan-bailouts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported.<\/a> Impeccable timing. <\/p>\n<p>As Parker noted, Congress passed bipartisan legislation last year blocking Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cbo-miscalculated-federal-student-loan-program-budget-by-500-billion\/\" title=\"CBO Miscalculated Federal Student Loan Program  Budget by 0 Billion\">student loan bailouts<\/a> by executive fiat. Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/rollcall.com\/2023\/06\/07\/biden-vetoes-effort-to-block-student-loan-forgiveness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vetoed it<\/a>.
