Their ultimate goal is to destroy property rights and replace capitalism with socialism.<\/p>\n<p>Squatting is a form of trespassing as squatters use properties without the owners\u2019 permission or any legal documentation. Nor do squatters offer property owners financial compensation. Atlanta, Georgia, is the epicenter of the squatter crisis. Squatters have overtaken about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-13025265\/atlanta-squatters-georgia-crime.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1,200 homes<\/a>. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-656257310\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-80415d80c15b0e8362f046d0eedcddc4 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-80415d80c15b0e8362f046d0eedcddc4\"><\/div>\n<p>One of the victimized homeowners, Lt. Col. Dahlia Daure, said she felt \u201cviolated\u201d after learning that a squatter with a lengthy criminal history lived in her home rent-free with a fake lease while she was away on active duty.<strong> <\/strong>In Dallas, Texas, squatters have occupied an estimated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-13202517\/America-squatting-crisis-violence-vigilantes.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">475 homes<\/a>. Even high-end communities are not free from squatters. In Beverly Hills, California, a group of squatters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-12979625\/The-hard-partying-squatters-tormenting-Beverly-Hills-neighborhood-near-nightly-mansion-parties-include-man-accused-beating-girlfriend-alleged-perpetrator-multi-million-dollar-student-loans-scam.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">took over<\/a> a $4.3 million mansion, tormented their neighbors with loud all-night parties, and dumped trash all over the property. It took a dramatic police raid to eventually get rid of these settlers. <\/p>\n<p>Besides violating homeowners\u2019 property rights and trespassing, squatters often conduct criminal activities in properties they take over illegally. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-13202517\/America-squatting-crisis-violence-vigilantes.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dailymail.com<\/a>, \u201cEntire communities in Los Angeles and Atlanta have been ravaged by criminals turning homes into strip clubs and hosting all night raves, while residents of Texas and Colorado are being tormented by a serial squatter who is running rings around the police.\u201d Last week, New York police <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7ny.com\/eight-suspected-migrants-arrested-in-the-bronx-after-police-found-them-squatting-with-guns-and-drugs\/14605864\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">raided<\/a> a home in the Bronx occupied by squatters who were illegal immigrants. Police found guns, drugs, and a 7-year-old in the house.<\/p>\n<p>Desperate property owners have to wait months or years to legally evict squatters or take the matter into their own hands, at the risk of endangering themselves. New York City homeowner Adele Andaloro was <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/03\/28\/real-estate\/1m-home-squatter-demands-ransom-reveals-migrant-hustle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">handcuffed by police<\/a> last month when she tried to change the lock and kick out squatter Brian Rodriguez. Rodriguez has taken over the $1 million home Adele inherited from her parents and planned to allow illegal immigrants to rent rooms from him. <\/p>\n<p>In another New York City squatting case, authorities arrested two squatters who <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/03\/22\/us-news\/teen-squatter-suspects-in-slaying-of-nyc-mom-found-in-duffel-bag-busted-in-pa-sources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">allegedly<\/a> took over an upscale apartment and beat homeowner Nadia Vitels to death when she confronted them on March 12.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b8d73dba377539bc5593aa5563371555 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-b8d73dba377539bc5593aa5563371555\"><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Results of a Systemic Effort<\/h2>\n<p>This squatter crisis is the result of woke Democrats\u2019 systemic effort to normalize property theft since the Covid-19 pandemic. In April 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) imposed an eviction <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/communication\/Signed-CDC-Eviction-Order.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ban<\/a>, even though the agency <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/20pdf\/20a169_4f15.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lacked legal authority<\/a>. The ban prevented landlords from collecting rent and evicting tenants. The CDC essentially voided the majority of rental contracts and violated landlords\u2019 property rights with the eviction ban.<\/p>\n<p>The eviction ban was supposed to be a temporary measure that would expire by the end of 2020. However, after Joe Biden became president, his administration renewed the federal eviction ban three times until the U.S. Supreme Court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scotusblog.com\/2021\/08\/court-lifts-federal-ban-on-evictions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lifted the ban<\/a> at the end of August 2021. Still, the court decision failed to prevent some Democrat-controlled states and municipalities, such as Alameda County, California, from extending the eviction ban well into 2023, long after the pandemic was over.<\/p>\n<p>The eviction bans and their multiple extensions have incentivized some tenants not to pay rent for long periods of time while continuing to occupy the properties. Unable to collect rent for months and years has caused many property owners financial hardship. Last year, a landlord in California <a href=\"https:\/\/sfstandard.com\/2023\/02\/27\/bay-area-landlord-goes-on-hunger-strike-over-eviction-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">staged a hunger strike<\/a>, alleging that the eviction ban had cost him $120,000 because his tenants hadn\u2019t paid rent for 37 months.\u00a0But Democrats support eviction bans while ignoring landlords\u2019 sufferings.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the eviction bans, the left normalized property theft through their defense of looting.\u00a0In her 2020 book, <em>In Defense of Looting<\/em>, Vicky Osterweil <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/codeswitch\/2020\/08\/27\/906642178\/one-authors-argument-in-defense-of-looting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">argues<\/a> that\u00a0looting is not an illegal act but a necessary form of wealth and property redistribution in an unjust society. Looting \u201cgets people what they need for free immediately, which means that they are capable of living and reproducing their lives without having to rely on jobs or a wage.\u201d A year after Osterweil\u2019s book was published, California\u2019s Democrats <a href=\"https:\/\/leginfo.legislature.ca.gov\/faces\/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202120220SB82\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">passed a law to decriminalize robbery<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-dda2e51f204f1ff69f4b5561ea6f4072 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-dda2e51f204f1ff69f4b5561ea6f4072\"><\/div>\n<p>The left\u2019s normalization of property theft has been successful because criminals continue to smash, grab, and loot stores in broad daylight in 2024 while cops and store clerks have learned to look the other way. Retail giants such as <a href=\"https:\/\/r.search.yahoo.com\/_ylt=AwrijFhaFRNmiwQAOaRXNyoA;_ylu=Y29sbwNiZjEEcG9zAzMEdnRpZAMEc2VjA3Ny\/RV=2\/RE=1713736283\/RO=10\/RU=https%3a%2f%2fsfstandard.com%2f2023%2f10%2f20%2fwalgreens-san-francisco-union-square-closure%2f\/RK=2\/RS=qJmjz_o.QO2Qzopaz38Oyaas0RE-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Walgreens<\/a> were forced to shut down some stores in Democrat-controlled cities, such as San Francisco. There is a direct link between the left\u2019s normalization of looting and the current squatter crisis in Democrat-controlled cities.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Squatters\u2019 Rights Laws<\/h2>\n<p>America\u2019s current squatter crisis has been made worse by blue states\u2019 and cities\u2019 overly lenient squatters\u2019 rights laws, which are also known as \u201cadverse possession\u201d laws. Such laws stipulate that if a squatter occupies a property for a certain period without the owner taking legal action against them, the squatter gains the legal right to stay and use the property. New York City\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/new-york-citys-squatter-rights-1884219\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">squatter rights law<\/a> allows a squatter to obtain tenant rights after living in a property for 30 days.<\/p>\n<p>The squatters\u2019 rights law puts financial and legal burdens on property owners, forcing them to fight a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-grand-jury-seated-for-next-stage-of-trump-investigation\/\" title=\"New Grand Jury Seated for Next Stage of Trump Investigation\">lengthy legal battle<\/a> to evict squatters while squatters live on the property rent-free and cannot be arrested for trespassing. Property owners, however, will be arrested for changing locks on the properties or removing squatters\u2019 belongings as long as the legal process is ongoing. Some squatters even used squatters\u2019 rights laws to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/04\/01\/us-news\/nyc-squatters-use-shake-shack-receipt-for-proof-of-rights-to-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sue legal owners for money<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The blue states\u2019 squatters\u2019 rights law so heavily favors squatters that even illegal migrants started to exploit it. Leonel Moreno, an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-13281469\/venezuelan-migrant-influencer-squatting-tiktok-prison-amendment-leonel-moreno.html#v-6833690565325635605\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shared<\/a> squatting tips on TikTok<strong> <\/strong>on how to<strong> <\/strong>\u201cinvade\u201d American homes. He invoked squatter\u2019s rights, claiming that under U.S. law, \u201cif a house is not inhabited, we can seize it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To add more insult to injury, some leftist organizations have used their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/immigrant-business-owner-who-fled-communism-jailed-for-staying-open-supporters-back-her-with-gofundme\/\" title=\"Immigrant Business Owner Who Fled Communism Jailed For Staying Open, Supporters Back Her With GoFundMe\">taxpayer-funded resources<\/a> to help squatters fight property owners\u2019 legal eviction proceedings. In Bellevue, Washington, landlord Jaskaran Singh <a href=\"https:\/\/komonews.com\/news\/local\/bellevue-landlord-plans-protest-rental-home-eviction-notice-tenants-rights-nonpayment-rent-123rd-ave-se-housing-justice-project-hjp-writ-of-execution-court-state-legislature\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">alleged<\/a> a serial squatter, Sang Kim, and his family haven\u2019t paid rent since May 2023 while living in Singh\u2019s $2 million rental property. Kim received free legal assistance from the King County Bar Association\u2019s Housing Justice Project (HJP). <\/p>\n<p>After Singh\u2019s \u201cLandlord Lives Matter\u201d protest outside his rental property drew national media attention, HJP used taxpayers\u2019 money to pay back close to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/choeshow\/status\/1773873230065127768\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">$90,000<\/a> in rent that Kim owed. The HJP, however, continues to help Kim delay eviction efforts, including requesting a stay on the court\u2019s eviction order. Singh and other fed-up property owners <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/choeshow\/status\/1776740629567164897?s=43&#038;t=IUXKKb_oVUT5LlG7QeZIXg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">protested<\/a> in Bellevue recently, blaming the HJP and Democrat leaders, including Gov. Jay Inslee and State Sen. Patty Kuderer, for enabling a squatter crisis in the state. <\/p>\n<p>Independent journalist Jonathan Choe, who has been covering Singh\u2019s case since the beginning, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/choeshow\/status\/1773877886837231818\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posted on X<\/a> that in Washington state, \u201cDemocrats, especially the progressive wing, are circling the wagons. They know if Singh wins, it could have massive political implications for tenant\/landlord laws. Basically, this mom &#038; pop landlord has laid out the playbook to fight back against this broken system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>America\u2019s current squatter crisis is the result of Democrats\u2019 systemic effort to normalize property theft. Their ultimate goal is to destroy property rights and replace America\u2019s free-market capitalism with socialism.
