UConn coach Dan Hurley joined an elite group\u2063 with this historic\u200b win.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>The University of Connecticut Huskies defeated the Purdue Boilermakers 75-60 on Monday night to win the 2023-2024 NCAA men\u2019s basketball championship. <\/p>\n<p>UConn was led by senior guard Tristen Newton, who scored a team-high 20 points in the game. Purdue University\u2019s star player, two-time Wooden Award winner Zach Edey, led all scorers with 37 points. <\/p>\n<p>The win represents a dominating season for the Huskies. They were the number one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/opinion-college-footballs-playoff-expansion-is-all-about-greed\/\" title=\"OPINION: College Football\u2019s Playoff Expansion Is All About Greed\">ranked team<\/a> at the end of the regular season and had the highest overall seed in this year\u2019s annual March Madness. They won every game they played in the tournament by double digits. <\/p>\n<p>It is the second consecutive championship for the Huskies basketball team, which finished the season with a 37-3 record. Last year, the Huskies defeated the San Diego State University Aztecs, 75-69. They are the first men\u2019s college team to win back-to-back titles since the 2006 and 2007 University of Florida Gators.
