NASA has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/space\/2957900\/watch-live-total-solar-eclipse-makes-its-way-across-country\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"streams\">streams<\/a> of the eclipse as it goes across the country and puts millions in temporary midday darkness.<\/p>\n<blockquote data-media-max-width=\"560\"><p>\u2014 NASA (@NASA) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NASA\/status\/1777399079124742451?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">April 8, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Most U.S. cities not in the path of totality will still get a partial eclipse. Washington, D.C., is not in the path of totality, but the eclipse will be partially visible in the nation\u2019s Capital from 2:04 p.m. Eastern time to 4:32 p.m. Eastern time. NASA advises that viewers of the eclipse wear \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/eclipse.aas.org\/eye-safety\/viewers-filters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">solar viewing glasses<\/a>\u201d when viewing the eclipse.<\/p>\n<p>For those under the path of totality, it is only safe to look at the sun without protection during the peak part of the eclipse, but experts advise that protection be used for the duration of the eclipse.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>People watch as the moon partially covers the sun during a total solar eclipse, as seen from Eagle Pass, Texas, Monday, April 8, 2024.
