The group will\u2064 closely watch senators&#8217; votes, ensuring they align with constituents&#8217; concerns.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>EXCLUSIVE \u2014 <\/strong>Conservative advocacy group Heritage Action is planning to target <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/senate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Senate Republicans\">Senate Republicans<\/a> who have voiced plans to vote against proceeding with a trial on the impeachment of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/homeland-security\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Homeland Security\">Homeland Security<\/a> Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/alejandro-mayorkas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Alejandro Mayorkas.\">Alejandro Mayorkas.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The sister organization of the Washington-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/heritage-foundation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Heritage Foundation<\/a>, a nonprofit think tank, told the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> on Monday morning that it will unleash its own campaign to whip GOP senators into line and ensure the Mayorkas trial comes to fruition later this week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe border crisis, which was created and facilitated by this administration, is now the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/611135\/immigration-surges-top-important-problem-list.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>number one concern<\/a> of Americans,\u201d Heritage Action Executive Vice President Ryan Walker said in a statement. \u201cLawmakers who claim that impeaching Secretary Mayorkas is a waste of time or the Senate is too busy to hold a trial are not only absurd, they\u2019re massively out-of-touch with the voters who sent them to Washington.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>House\u00a0managers in the case will deliver the two articles of\u00a0impeachment\u00a0to the upper chamber on Wednesday, nearly two months since the lower chamber <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2853744\/alejandro-mayorkas-impeached\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">impeached<\/a> Mayorkas.<\/p>\n<p>Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer told members in a \u201cDear Colleague\u201d letter sent last Friday that confirmed the Senate would receive the articles Wednesday, when Mayorkas is also scheduled to appear on Capitol Hill for a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CraigCaplan\/status\/1775592727226228927\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pair of congressional hearings<\/a> related to the DHS budget. Impeachment proceedings are slated to begin in the Senate on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Heritage Action plans to alert lawmakers later Monday that it will declare any procedural motion that Schumer puts on the floor a \u201ckey vote.\u201d The vote to table the trial only requires a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-arizona-state-rep-issues-call-to-withhold-states-electoral-college-votes-to-joe-biden-due-to-significant-evidence-of-fraud\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Arizona State Rep Issues Call to Withhold State's Electoral College Votes to Joe Biden Due to Significant Evidence of Fraud\">simple majority<\/a> and has a one-vote threshold, making it critical that Republicans stay in line.<\/p>\n<p>Any Republican who defects and votes with the Democrats will be put on blast, including in messaging to its 2 million grassroots supporters, according to Heritage Action.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnyone who does Schumer\u2019s bidding and votes to dismiss or table will be complicit in his coverup and the border crisis itself. Senators who would rather focus on the terrible bills Schumer has put forward instead of holding a trial for Mayorkas cannot be trusted by conservatives,\u201d Walker said. \u201cHeritage Action stands with Americans demanding accountability and will Key Vote any procedural move put forth to sweep the charges against Mayorkas under the rug.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To date, the exact number of Republicans who are opposed to impeachment remains unclear. Sen.
