Not even close to my signature. That\u2019s very upsetting,\u201d Stephen Riordan, a Phoenix resident whose name and signature were listed on Martin\u2019s paperwork, said.<\/p>\n<p>Martin submitted 1,200 signatures, which is more than the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.azleg.gov\/ars\/16\/00322.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>required<\/a> \u201cat least one-half of one percent\u201d of registered voters in the district needed to get on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m disappointed,\u201d Shannon Speagle, another resident whose signature was allegedly forged, said. \u201cIt completely delegitimizes this candidacy.\u201d She said her signature was \u201cbogus.\u201d Speagle said she asked three additional neighbors to verify their signatures on the petition. They say their signatures were also \u201cbogus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Martin did not respond to the <em>Arizona Republic<\/em> for comment.
