The Ohio Secretary of State flagged a legal conflict to \u2063the Ohio Democratic Chair regarding the certification deadline before \u2062the Democratic \u200bNational Convention, where \u2062Biden is set to be nominated. The\u2062 campaign\u2062 for President Joe \u200dBiden and Democrats encounter\u2064 obstacles \u200din Ohio \u200ddue to a state law that could \u200bimpede Biden&#8217;s presence on the November ballot. The\u2064 Ohio Secretary of State notified the Ohio\u2064 Democratic Chair of a legal conflict concerning\u2062 the certification deadline prior to the Democratic National Convention, where Biden is expected to receive the nomination.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Democrats and the campaign for President Joe Biden are heading for trouble in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/ohio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ohio<\/a> as a law in the state could prevent Biden from appearing on the ballot in November.<\/p>\n<p>The Ohio Secretary of State\u2019s office sent a letter to Ohio Democratic Chair Liz Walters on Friday, warning of \u201can apparent conflict in Ohio law\u201d as the Democratic National Convention \u2014 where Biden will officially be nominated \u2014 is scheduled for August 19, 12 days after the deadline when presidential nominees must be certified by the Secretary of State, ABC News <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/biden-face-challenges-ohio-general-ballot\/story?id=108912620\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am left to conclude that the Democratic National Committee must either move up its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/virginia-shuts-down-elections-site-ahead-of-key-republican-deadline\/\" title=\"Virginia Shuts Down Elections Site Ahead of Key Republican Deadline\">nominating convention<\/a> or the Ohio General Assembly must act by May 9, 2024 (90 days prior to a new law\u2019s effective date) to create an exception to this statutory requirement,\u201d wrote Paul Disantis, legal counsel for the Ohio SOS.<\/p>\n<p>The Ohio General Assembly is controlled by Republicans. Before Republicans\u2019 recent success in Ohio, Democrats counted on the midwestern state for election victories under Barack Obama in 2008 and 2012.<\/p>\n<p>Trump currently leads Biden in Ohio by 10 points, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/ohio\/trump-vs-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RealClearPolitics average<\/a> of polling data.
