Despite the odds, these \u200bunique contenders represent a growing dissatisfaction with the current two-party system. The Texas\u200c election introduces unique candidates like &#8220;Literally Anybody Else&#8221; \u200dshaking up the norm. Dustin Ebey\u200c from North\u200d Texas,\u200b who changed his name for impact, \u200bstrives to\u2064 provide an alternative to \u2064mainstream politics. These unconventional contenders reflect a rising discontent with the existing\u200d two-party structure.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>When voters head to the polls in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas<\/a> this November, there is a small chance they will find \u201cLiterally Anybody Else\u201d listed on the ballot underneath President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a> and former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Funny as they may be to some, the option would not be a fluke. In fact, North Texas man Dustin Ebey legally changed his name <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/politics\/lone-star-politics\/literally-anybody-else-us-presidential-candidate\/3498994\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">earlier this year<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/literallyanybodyelse.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Literally Anybody Else<\/a> so people have an eye-catching alternative.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really want there to be an outlet for folks like me who are just so fed up with this constant power grab between two parties that has no benefit for the common person,\u201d Else said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wfaa.com\/article\/news\/local\/north-texas-man-changes-name-to-literally-anybody-else-now-running-for-president\/287-b6e35d3a-6f6e-48b3-89bb-f4e70c53a984\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">local ABC affiliate WFAA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Else, a 7th grade math teacher and Army veteran, said the challenge is a \u201chard\u201d but not \u201cnot impossible\u201d one. He needs to get more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcdfw.com\/news\/politics\/lone-star-politics\/literally-anybody-else-us-presidential-candidate\/3498994\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">113,000 signatures<\/a> from non-primary voters by May 13. His other option is to be a write-in candidate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis isn\u2019t about me, \u2018Literally Anybody Else,\u2019 more so as it is an idea. We can do better out of 300 million people for president,\u201d he said. Else added he would \u201clove\u201d to get on the debate stage and bring the \u201creality\u201d that Biden and Trump \u201care not enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although Biden and Trump have virtually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/trump-locks-up-gop-nomination-after-racking-up-4-more-primary-victories\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">locked up<\/a> the nomination of their respective parties, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipsos.com\/en-us\/most-americans-are-dissatisfied-their-choices-president\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">polling shows<\/a> most Americans are dissatisfied with their choices for president and grow tired of the two-party system.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/latest-polls\/president\/general-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/a>, who is running as an independent after a break with the Democratic Party, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/latest-polls\/president\/general-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">repeatedly notched<\/a> double-digit support in 2024 surveys. His main challenge at the moment is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2024\/apr\/01\/robert-f-kennedy-jr-north-carolina-ballot-2024-elections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">getting on the ballot<\/a> in all 50 states.<\/p>\n<p>While other candidates have suspended their campaigns, including former South Carolina Governor and ex-U.S. Ambassador <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/nikki-haley-drops-out-does-not-endorse-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nikki Haley<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/au.news.yahoo.com\/dean-phillips-drops-long-shot-181606823.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN)<\/a>, there remain in the mix some competitors who seek to disrupt the state of play.<\/p>\n<p>One such person is Jason Palmer, who scored an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/joe-biden-notches-first-loss-on-super-tuesday\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">upset victory<\/a> last month in American Samoa\u2019s Democratic nominating contest, handing Biden his first defeat in the 2024 election cycle and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2024\/03\/06\/1236244459\/long-shot-jason-palmer-deals-president-biden-a-caucus-defeat-in-american-samoa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">collecting a few delegates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Palmer, a venture capitalist from Maryland, acknowledges on his <a href=\"https:\/\/palmerforpresident.us\/faq\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a> that he is a \u201c\u2026 longshot candidate with very little chance of winning\u201d and stresses that his campaign is \u201cmore focused on ideas, solutions and changing the conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He wants \u201cconscious capitalism\u201d \u2014\u00a0which Palmer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/video\/?534622-3\/jason-palmer-2024-presidential-bid\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told C-SPAN<\/a> involves \u201cpeople who create business for good and invest in businesses for basically socially-improving purposes \u2014 a \u201cpeople first talent economy,\u201d and \u201cmodernizing government.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yet another person who is still running for the White House as a Democrat is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/marianne-williamson-launches-another-bid-for-president-as-a-democrat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">self-help author Marianne Williamson<\/a>. She <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/02\/07\/marianne-williamson-drops-long-shot-2024-presidential-bid.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">suspended<\/a> her campaign in early February only to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2024\/02\/28\/marianne-williamson-unsuspending-campaign\/72771674007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">resurrect it<\/a> a few weeks later after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2024\/02\/27\/us\/elections\/results-michigan-democratic-presidential-primary.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winning 3%<\/a> in the Michigan primary.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_719191\" style=\"width: 874px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\">\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-719191\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">STEFANI REYNOLDS\/AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Williamson previously sought the presidency in the 2020 election. Upon <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MaryMargOlohan\/status\/1762827066582470933\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cunsuspending\u201d<\/a> her campaign this time around, Williams said people \u201ccannot sit idly by while the D.C. political class sleepwalks this country into disaster.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A \u201cwinning\u201d platform, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MaryMargOlohan\/status\/1762827066582470933\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to Williamson<\/a>, includes \u201cMedicare for All,\u201d tuition-free college, subsidized childcare, \u201crepudiating America\u2019s forever war machine,\u201d a \u201cguaranteed living wage,\u201d and ending the \u201cWar on Drugs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Liberal activist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/green-party-candidate-cornel-west-democrats-beyond-redemption-bernie-and-aoc-are-window-dressing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cornel West<\/a> is also running for president. West made waves in October when he dropped his Green Party bid to campaign as an independent. Like some of the others, he <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CornelWest\/status\/1709944683500355884\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted to X<\/a> about how people are \u201chungry\u201d for a change.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey want good policies over partisan politics. We need to break the grip of the duopoly and give power to the people,\u201d West said, adding he was running as an independent to \u201cend the iron grip of the ruling class and ensure true democracy!\u201d<\/p>\n<h4><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILY WIRE APP<\/a><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>As much as Americans do seem to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/elections\/2024\/01\/13\/biden-trump-rematch-lead-in-polls\/72087419007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lack enthusiasm<\/a> about a 2020 rematch between Biden and Trump, polls show them in a close race anyway. Moreover, insurgent-organized efforts to shatter the paradigm in the White House contest have dragged their feet this election cycle.<\/p>\n<p>No Labels, which had touted the idea of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/no-labels-chief-expresses-interest-in-haley-joining-ticket\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u201cUnity Ticket,\u201d<\/a> announced on Thursday that it would be ending a search after failing to find <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LokayFOX5\/status\/1775960207673237824\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">viable candidates<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Though the group said \u201cthe responsible course of action\u201d was to stand down, it noted, \u201cAmericans remain more open to an independent presidential run, and hungrier for unifying national leadership, than ever before.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For voters who have become disenchanted with the state of politics, there is someone they can reliably turn to \u2014 for kicks, if not a competitor who actually has a shot of winning. That person is Vermin Supreme, the perennial candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=qy_fMmfKDhk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">known for wearing a boot<\/a> on his head.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVermin Supreme will take away your guns and give you better ones. These better guns will shoot marshmallows, but they will still be lethal,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wmur.com\/article\/new-hampshire-iop-lesser-known-candidates-forum-23\/46069998\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> at a New Hampshire forum in December.
