Jean-Pierre&#8217;s\u200b response\u200b appeared hesitant, \u2063referring to \u2062the Department\u200b of Energy \u200band emphasizing\u200b the \u200dprocess over the refilling itself.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>White House Press Secretary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/karine-jean-pierre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Karine Jean-Pierre<\/a> appeared to short-circuit during Wednesday\u2019s briefing, struggling to come up with an answer when pressed on President Joe Biden\u2019s decision not to refill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve as previously promised.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy prefaced his question with a reminder that Biden had promised to refill the SPR, claiming that he was only draining it to compensate for the spike in gas prices that he had blamed on Russian President Vladimir Putin and his February 2022 invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFirst, the \u2014 so, you guys started draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to try and help with \u2018the Putin Price Hike\u2019 a few years ago. Said you were going to refill it. But now it doesn\u2019t seem like that\u2019s happening. I know there are certain components to that and how they were going to move forward and refilling \u2014 refilling it.
