However,\u200d challenges persist for the contenders, with Nikki Haley, a former Republican candidate, maintaining a notable 10%-15% vote \u200dshare against Trump. The protest vote trend, fueled by\u2062 various voter groups&#8217; discontent, remains a significant factor \u200dimpacting the candidates.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a> and former President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/donald-trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Donald Trump<\/a> easily won presidential primaries in Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island, and Delaware Tuesday night. <\/p>\n<p>But two persistent problems continue to hobble the two candidates in their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2024<\/a> rematch. <\/p>\n<p>Despite dropping out nearly a month ago, former Republican presidential candidate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/nikki-haley\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nikki Haley<\/a> continues to pull roughly 10%-15% of the vote in GOP state primaries against Trump. <\/p>\n<p>And while Biden no longer faces any credible challenger after clinching the Democratic nomination, the \u201cuncommitted\u201d protest vote has haunted the president since Michigan\u2019s Democratic primary when 101,000 snubbed the president and voted \u201cuncommitted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/election-2024\/?utm_source=homepage&#038;utm_medium=banner&#038;utm_campaign=iowa_caucus&#038;utm_id=election2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ELECTION 2024: FOLLOW LATEST COVERAGE<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Arab, Muslim, young, and progressive voters incensed by the Biden administration\u2019s handling of the war between Israel and Hamas have launched several protest vote campaigns that have spread across the U.S. The coalition of Democratic voters has called for Biden to endorse a permanent ceasefire in the conflict. <\/p>\n<p>The continued protest vote effort against Biden comes after at least seven aid workers were killed in Israeli airstrikes Monday while delivering food in Gaza. The deaths of the aid workers resulted in fierce backlash, with Biden calling for an investigation into the attack and calling for its findings to be made public in a statement on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p>In the critical battleground state of Wisconsin, organizers encouraged Democrats to vote \u201cuninstructed\u201d during the Tuesday primary. After the Associated Press called the race at 9:13 p.m. Eastern time, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/projects\/election-results-2024\/wisconsin\/?r=50001\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>won Wisconsin<\/a> at 87.2% with 44% of the vote counted. Nearly 10% of Democrats voted \u201cuninstructed\u201d in a rebuke of Biden. <\/p>\n<p>The more than 33,550 voters who voted \u201cuninstructed\u201d surpassed the goal of 20,682\u00a0ballots organizers had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/wisconsin-primary-tests-uncommitted-vote-bidens-israel-stance-2024-04-01\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>set<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The results were a warning state for Biden who won the state in 2020 by less than 1 percentage point, just under 20,700 votes. <\/p>\n<figure>\n<div>\n<blockquote data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Here\u2019s a portion of my interviews with Sarah, an organizer supporting the \u201cuncommitted\u201d vote, and Sen. Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/projects\/election-results-2024\/new-york\/?r=39269\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>won the Empire State<\/a> by nearly 92% with 48% of the votes counted. The number of blank ballots won\u2019t be announced until two weeks after the primary, according to New York\u2019s Board of Elections. <\/p>\n<p>Although Rhode Island only has four electoral votes, nearly <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/projects\/election-results-2024\/rhode-island\/?r=40834\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>15% of voters<\/a> in the Democratic primary chose to cast an \u201cuncommitted\u201d ballot meaning it will likely win between one to two delegates. Meanwhile, Biden won 82.5% with 98% of the votes counted. <\/p>\n<p>Nearly 12% of <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/projects\/election-results-2024\/connecticut\/?r=7003\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Connecticut voters<\/a> cast an \u201cuncommitted\u201d vote in the Democratic primary where Biden won with 84.6% of the vote. <\/p>\n<p>Simultaneously, Haley continues to be a thorn in Trump\u2019s side, as she is still pulling double digits in primaries after dropping out of the race one day after Super Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>In Wisconsin, Haley <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/projects\/election-results-2024\/wisconsin\/?r=50002\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>won nearly 14%<\/a> of the vote compared to Trump\u2019s 78.3% with 53% of the votes counted. <\/p>\n<p>Haley\u2019s former presidential run largely lasted due to a coalition of suburban voters, independents, moderates put off by Trump, and Democrats attempting to help sustain her campaign against Trump. If just enough suburban voters or moderate Republicans sit out the race or vote against Trump it could cost him a second presidential race. <\/p>\n<p>The former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. appears headed to win a delegate in Rhode Island, as any candidate who receives over 10% of the vote in the state is awarded delegates. Haley <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/projects\/election-results-2024\/rhode-island\/?r=40002\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>won nearly 11%<\/a> of the vote in the state with 98% of the votes counted. Trump easily won at 84.4%. <\/p>\n<p>Haley <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/projects\/election-results-2024\/new-york\/?r=39296\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>won 14%<\/a> of the vote in bright blue New York and Trump\u2019s native home place, with 43% of the votes counted. She also <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/projects\/election-results-2024\/connecticut\/?r=7002\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>won nearly 14%<\/a> of the vote in Connecticut with 46% of the votes counted. <\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trump spent Tuesday holding rallies in Michigan and Wisconsin, where he slammed Biden over immigration and claimed he would address abortion in a statement next week. <\/p>\n<p>The Biden campaign has sought to make the 2024 election a referendum on Trump\u2019s record, including helping overturn <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>, and not on the president\u2019s record in office. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cDonald Trump said that women should be punished for having an abortion, is running on a national ban, and supports cruel state bans like Florida\u2019s,\u201d said spokeswoman Sarafina Chitika in a statement Tuesday. \u201cTrump is \u2018proud\u2019 he overturned Roe v.
