A new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.annfammed.org\/content\/22\/2\/149\">study<\/a> found that a supermajority of gender-confused men who \u201ctuck\u201d their genitalia in an effort to avoid a telltale bulge \u201cexperienced at least 1 side effect,\u201d with \u201cgonad pain reported most frequently.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The more a man tucked, the more he risked ill effects, some of which (infection, testicular torsion, infertility) are severe. The Daily Mail <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.is\/iKUS8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">helpfully illustrated<\/a> the point by dredging up the experiences of trans-identified TikTok influencer Dylan Mulvaney \u2014 best known for tanking Anheuser-Busch\u2019s stock and sales \u2014 to confirm that tucking is indeed \u201cvery painful and involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2-long d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-788960761\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1379703300879-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5ab68b4660967a9fdae82b7931629002 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-5ab68b4660967a9fdae82b7931629002\"><\/div>\n<p>You don\u2019t say.<\/p>\n<p>This study demonstrates the reality of so-called gender-affirming medicine, which is that it is not actually medicine. As the study and follow-up reporting demonstrate, tucking is painful and risky while providing no physical benefits whatsoever. Nonetheless, the study\u2019s authors not only tell doctors \u201cto ask patients if they would like to discuss risks, benefits, and safe methods of tucking\u201d but also to \u201cask about preferred anatomy terminology, as the words penis and testicles may be offensive to this population.\u201d Instead of healers, doctors are expected to be facilitators of each patient\u2019s whims, no matter how illusory and unhealthy they are. <\/p>\n<p>And so, as Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SonofHas\/status\/1774476256878153853\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">elevates<\/a> \u201cTransgender Day of Visibility\u201d above Easter, we ought to make visible the truth about \u201cgender-affirming care,\u201d which is that none of it is medically necessary and that it all comes with risks and side effects. In contrast, there is never any physical harm from not transitioning. This is why transgender activists and their allies constantly invoke the threat of self-harm, especially when trying to persuade reluctant parents to approve radical procedures for their children. Without the threat of suicide, the transgender movement collapses. Only the direst of threats \u2014 children dead by their own hands \u2014 can justify, for example, castrating boys and amputating the breasts of troubled teenage girls.<\/p>\n<p>Using the suicide narrative as cover, activists are pushing gender ideology as far as they can, especially when it comes to children. For example, the retailers who sell specialized underwear and other products for tucking also manufacture them for, and market them to, minors. The same is true for breast binders for girls, which likewise tend to be painful and can cause injuries. Activist teachers and school systems encourage these and other steps in \u201ctransition,\u201d which they also work to hide from parents who might object.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-06a43a496846fecf1004357fa2bb464a fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-06a43a496846fecf1004357fa2bb464a\"><\/div>\n<p>Worse still, the physical harm caused by transition is only increased with each new step in the process. The puberty blockers that are given to children inhibit normal development, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/the-truth-about-puberty-blockers-overdiagnosis-gender-dysphoria-children-933cd8fb\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">including<\/a> of the bones and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city-journal.org\/article\/transgender-ideology-and-the-corruption-of-medicine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">brain<\/a>. Contrary to the claims of transgender activists, they are not a fully reversible \u201cpause button\u201d but are a powerful disruption of the body\u2019s natural, healthy development. The Dutch Protocol, in which puberty blockers are used to inhibit natural puberty in young boys, which is followed by cross-sex hormones, inevitably sterilizes those subjected to it. It also precludes sexual development, leaving them permanently anorgasmic.<\/p>\n<p>These cross-sex hormones are medically unnecessary and physically dangerous, whether given to children or adults. Subjects taking these drugs may suffer significant side effects, which run from the painful (e.g. vaginal atrophy and clitoral enlargement in women taking testosterone) to the deadly (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.acc.org\/About-ACC\/Press-Releases\/2023\/02\/22\/20\/29\/Hormone-Therapy-for-Gender-Dysphoria-May-Raise-Cardiovascular-Risks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">potential<\/a> heart problems). Thanks to the release of the <a href=\"https:\/\/environmentalprogress.org\/big-news\/wpath-files\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">WPATH files<\/a>, we also know that some of the medical providers giving them out believe they can cause deadly cancers.<\/p>\n<p>And, of course, \u201cgender-affirming\u201d surgeries have a high rate of complications that can range from the awkward (incontinence) to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.city-journal.org\/article\/the-transgender-childrens-crusade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">incredibly painful<\/a> to the <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/trans-teen-died-from-vaginoplasty-complications-during-landmark-dutch-study-used-to-justify-child-sex-changes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deadly<\/a>. For example, Jazz Jennings, the trans-identified reality TV star, suffered severe complications after his genital surgeries. As bad as tucking can be, trying to turn male genitalia into a facsimile of a woman\u2019s (or the reverse) is often much, much worse. <\/p>\n<p>Even though the physicians doing these procedures have <a href=\"https:\/\/environmentalprogress.org\/big-news\/wpath-files\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admitted<\/a> that children cannot really give informed consent to them, trans activists are nonetheless <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/14\/trans-ideologues-would-rather-revolt-against-reality-than-admit-they-were-wrong\/\">arguing<\/a> that children have a right to all of them, and they are pushing them relentlessly in schools, medicine, and culture while also trying to cut parents out of the loop. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-990e660ff0cb6c213703b652daa2c196 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-990e660ff0cb6c213703b652daa2c196\"><\/div>\n<p>All of this is the result of the superstitious belief that there is an epidemic of children somehow being born into the wrong bodies. This view is propped up with junk science, which in turn is ratified by medical organizations run by cowards who are too afraid to stand up to the radical activists in their midst.<\/p>\n<p>But the harms inflicted by gender ideology\u2019s takeover of the medical establishment are undeniable. There is nothing healing about \u201cgender-affirming care,\u201d and a reckoning is coming. Instead of the superstition of gender ideology, and the injuries it inflicts through its revolt against reality, we need a return to medicine that does no harm.
