However, after further testing, it was discovered that the Democratic lawmaker had cancer, he <a href=\"https:\/\/grijalva.house.gov\/rep-grijalva-statement-on-cancer-diagnosis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said in a statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis diagnosis has been difficult to process, but I am confident in the vigorous course of treatment that my medical team has developed,\u201d Grijalva said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am grateful to my family, friends and doctors for their support, and I am working hard to get healthy and return to business as usual as soon as I am able,\u201d he added. \u201cI appreciate your consideration, well wishes and respect for my family\u2019s privacy during this time.
