The initiative, inspired by Michigan&#8217;s campaign, aims to \u200binfluence Biden&#8217;s stance. With razor-thin \u2062election\u2062 margins, Wisconsin voters are \u200durged to participate in\u200b this movement, \u2063mirroring Biden&#8217;s\u200c previous win in \u2062the state. \u2064The state&#8217;s upcoming elections are crucial for expressing voters&#8217; concerns.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>President <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Joe Biden<\/a>\u2018s skeptical voters have put a number on what they think will be a successful protest vote in <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/wisconsin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Wisconsin<\/a> on Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>The \u201cuninstructed\u201d vote, inspired by Michigan\u2019s \u201cuncommitted\u201d campaign, urges Wisconsin voters to push Biden on his Israel policy to help people living in Gaza. Wisconsinites will also vote on two GOP-backed referendums that would change election laws statewide.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe margins of our elections are so incredibly close \u2014 less than 1% in the last two presidential election cycles \u2014 so I think it would behoove the administration to pay attention,\u201d Reema Ahmad, the lead organizer of the \u201cListen to Wisconsin\u201d campaign, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2024\/apr\/02\/wisconsin-primary-biden-trump-2024-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>told<\/a> the <em>Guardian<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>Organizers of the \u201cuninstructed\u201d campaign are seeking to gain as many votes for their cause as Biden won the state in 2020. <\/p>\n<p>Those margins in Wisconsin were razor thin, with Biden defeating then-President Donald Trump by about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/2020-election\/results\/wisconsin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>20,000 votes<\/a>, or 0.36%. It\u2019s a state Trump won in 2016 against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by a little more than 27,000 votes. In 2020, Biden captured a key base in the state that voted for Trump in 2016: suburban women, especially in Milwaukee\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailycardinal.com\/article\/2022\/11\/the-wow-counties-explained-how-milwaukee-suburbs-could-swing-wisconsins-midterm-elections\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>suburban \u201cWOW\u201d counties<\/a>, which have been Republican strongholds for decades.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re watching the precincts in Madison and Milwaukee the closest, and there is a flurry of activity in those areas,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/wisconsin-primary-tests-uncommitted-vote-bidens-israel-stance-2024-04-01\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a> Halah Ahmad, a spokeswoman for the \u201cuninstructed\u201d campaign.\u00a0Biden is expected to visit Madison, Wisconsin, next week, which is in a solidly Democratic county.<\/p>\n<p>Some union members are also supporting the \u201cuninstructed\u201d campaign. Union members are a key demographic for Biden, who has touted himself as \u201cthe most pro-union president in history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs trade unionists, we feel like it is our obligation to stand in solidarity with them and to pressure our electeds and our unions to do more and to do better to stop the U.S. support for the genocide in Gaza,\u201d Jacob Flom, who sits on the board of the Milwaukee Area Labor Council, told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2024\/apr\/01\/wisconsin-union-biden-campaign\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><em>Guardian<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Both parties are energizing their base on Tuesday, especially ahead of two ballot <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/elections\/wisconsin-gop-backed-ballot-measures-affect-elections-rcna145829\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>referendums<\/a> that could change election laws in the state\u2019s constitution. Voting rights organizations said these initiatives could have a negative effect on election administration in the Badger State. <\/p>\n<p>The first ballot initiative would bar election officials from accepting private grant money. The controversy with these \u201cZuckerbucks\u201d comes from funding from Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan\u2019s Center for Tech and Civic Life, to which they donated money to help mitigate COVID-19 spread in polling places during the 2020 election.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans argued these funds unfairly support Democratic candidates. There is no evidence that this funding statewide helped Biden win the election.<\/p>\n<p>The second ballot referendum would place an existing Wisconsin statute in the state\u2019s constitution that would make it so \u201conly election officials designated by law may perform tasks in the conduct of primaries, elections, and referendums.\u201d Opponents said Wisconsin laws already outline who an election official is and that this would baselessly narrow who can give out election information. <\/p>\n<p>Some warn that the First Amendment could leave Wisconsin without fully funded elections, as there have been no additional funds given to Wisconsin\u2019s electoral process in this year\u2019s budget. This could result in slower tallying and longer lines at the polls, as additional election workers cannot be hired.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s no guarantee that the election will be funded fully in the absence of outside money,\u201d said Debra Cronmiller, the executive director of Wisconsin\u2019s League of Women Voters. \u201cThey might not have the opportunities that a bigger municipality that has deeper pockets might have in order to serve their citizens.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gov.
