EMTALA, as the federal act is known by its acronym, doesn\u2019t say anything about abortion, Idaho Attorney General Raul Labrador has told the high court.<\/p>\n<p>A preliminary injunction requires the Idaho hospitals to provide abortion care through EMTALA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf a woman\u2019s life or health is at risk, it\u2019s imperative that she get the emergency medical care she needs,\u201d Stein said in a release. \u201cAbortion care is medical care, and hospitals must continue to provide it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stein is a candidate for governor in North Carolina. Last month, he won the primary for Democrats, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson won the Republican primary, and Mike Ross won the Libertarian primary. The Green Party\u2019s Wayne Turner is the fourth name on the ballot.<\/p>\n<p>Attorneys general from 22 other states, and the District of Columbia\u2019s lead prosecutor, also acted with Stein <a href=\"https:\/\/ncdoj.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/23-726_23-727_Amicus-Br-for-CA-NY-et-al.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>the amicus brief<\/strong><\/a> filing.<\/p>\n<p>Laws on abortion were returned to the states in June 2022 when the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/national\/article_cfff3a7c-f3c4-11ec-923c-d769c96dbaea.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Supreme Court overturned Roe v.
