This is all about unifying the party.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But unifying the left-wing media apparatus, pop stars, and your former boss is not the win Biden\u2019s team hoped it would be. <\/p>\n<p>Just outside the confines of Radio City Music Hall, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2024\/03\/29\/pro-palestinian-protesters-interrupted-bidens-glitzy-new-york-fundraiser-00149706#:~:text=Ahead%20of%20the%20event%2C%20hundreds,%E2%80%9Ccease%2Dfire%20now.%E2%80%9D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hundreds of anti-Israel protesters<\/a> jeered at Biden and his administration for his handling of the Israel-Hamas war. And while the terrorist sympathizers who threaten Biden\u2019s reelection chances should be ignored when crafting foreign policy, their presence underscores Democrats\u2019 struggle to unite the voter base to win the election. <\/p>\n<p>Biden lost nearly 19 percent of the vote in the Minnesota primary, 12.7 percent in the North Carolina primary, and 13.2 percent in the Michigan primary to those who voted \u201cuncommitted,\u201d according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/projects\/election-results-2024\/minnesota\/?r=25869\">Associated Press<\/a>. In the majority-Arab town of <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/28\/biden-lost-in-dearborn-again-proving-radical-is-the-new-mainstream-in-the-democrat-party\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dearborn<\/a>, Michigan, Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freep.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2024\/02\/28\/uncommitted-beating-biden-in-dearborn-with-most-votes-in\/72768534007\/\">lost to uncommitted<\/a> 57 to 40 percent. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c011cb5d387d20305e3aac62053b8831 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-c011cb5d387d20305e3aac62053b8831\"><\/div>\n<p>Meanwhile, Biden hasn\u2019t led Trump in national polling averages <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realclearpolling.com\/polls\/president\/general\/2024\/trump-vs-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in over six months<\/a> \u2014 all while the former president spends considerable time, resources, and money fighting Democrats\u2019 lawfare campaign. Compare this polling to the same time in 2020, when Biden was leading Trump by roughly 6 points in the FiveThirtyEight average, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2024-election\/bidens-improving-polling-trump-shaky-rcna143968\">NBC News<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Biden is also losing considerable support among some of Democrats\u2019 most reliable voters. A recent Fox News <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/official-polls\/fox-news-poll-half-voters-worse-off-2020\">poll<\/a> found Biden\u2019s support from black voters has decreased roughly 20 percentage points compared to pre-2020. A New York Times\/Siena College <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2024\/03\/05\/us\/elections\/times-siena-poll-registered-voter-crosstabs.html\">poll<\/a> from early March found Biden leads Trump 56 to 44 points among nonwhite Americans, a group Biden \u201cwon by almost 50 points when the two men last fought it out for the White House in 2020,\u201d The Financial Times\u2019 John Burn-Murdock <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/a7607626-5491-48bd-aa56-5a10cbeeb768?accessToken=zwAGE2emI3YIkdOnYHYmVJFIvdOqVloQy-63aA.MEQCIDkKZSSVNgxs5jAYFIclCTmT6aaeuj09IKQCgRfMPWwBAiBGni4wUO0GRh9-wH2UtqENqWoQrIDwucl2Osd4tbFnFw&#038;sharetype=gift&#038;token=3d81dfe5-d3fb-405e-9ec7-ac5832345405\">pointed out<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Despite Trump\u2019s lead, Democrats could still have the upper hand come November \u2014 but not due to Biden\u2019s track record. <\/p>\n<p>As The Federalist\u2019s Shawn Fleetwood <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/02\/14\/how-many-elections-must-high-polling-republicans-lose-to-learn-ballots-matter-more-than-votes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">noted<\/a>, Democrat Tom Suozzi won the special race to fill former Republican Rep. George Santos\u2019 seat within hours of polls closing, beating his Republican challenger Mazi Pilip by about <a href=\"https:\/\/ny1.com\/nyc\/all-boroughs\/politics\/2024\/02\/15\/unpacking-the-results--suozzi-s-win-in-ny-03-and-what-it-means#:~:text=Democrat%20Tom%20Suozzi%2C%20after%20successfully,at%20the%20end%20of%20February.\">8 points<\/a>. Suozzi was predicted to win, having held the seat before Santos. But the polls \u201csignificantly underestimated Democrat support,\u201d Fleetwood wrote. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-6faf09d93b03b1775f21eb3b6cbbbc58 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-6faf09d93b03b1775f21eb3b6cbbbc58\"><\/div>\n<p>Then a special election in Pennsylvania saw Democrat Jim Prokopiak beat Republican Candace Cabanas by some <a href=\"https:\/\/whyy.org\/articles\/bucks-county-special-election-day-pennsylvania-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">35 percentage points<\/a> for a seat representing part of Bucks County in the commonwealth\u2019s House of Representatives. Biden won that county by less than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.electionreturns.pa.gov\/General\/CountyResults?countyName=bucks&#038;ElectionID=83&#038;ElectionType=G&#038;IsActive=0\">5 points<\/a> in 2020. <\/p>\n<p>If Biden is wildly unpopular not just with the general electorate but key voting demographics, why do Democrats keep defying expectations?
