McAfee permitted Willis to proceed with the Trump case following special prosecutor Nathan Wade&#8217;s\u200b resignation, while expressing disapproval of \u2062her judgment errors and \u2063potential dishonesty.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>Fulton County <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">District Attorney <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/its-done-reactions-pour-in-over-latest-bombshell-report-against-fani-willis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fani Willis<\/a> has again publicly discussed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/race\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">race<\/a>, seemingly in response to Georgia Judge Scott McAfee rebuking Willis for her infamous \u201cplaying the race card\u201d speech at an Atlanta church in January. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Judge McAfee decided last month that Willis is permitted to stay on a controversial Trump election interference case after Trump co-defendant Michael Roman claimed Willis\u2019 affair with special prosecutor Nathan Wade was a clear conflict of interest, which financially benefited Willis.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s hard out here always having to prove yourself two and three times,\u201d Willis <a href=\"https:\/\/georgiastarnews.com\/news\/fani-willis-invokes-race-in-first-speech-since-being-chastised-by-judge-over-race-based-church-speech\/tpappert\/2024\/04\/01\/\">said<\/a> on Friday, at the South Fulton Women of the Shield Awards. \u201cRecently they tell me they don\u2019t like me to talk about race. Well, I\u2019m gonna talk about it anyway. Isn\u2019t it them playing the race card when they constantly think I need someone from some other jurisdiction in some other state to tell me how to do a job I\u2019ve been doing almost 30 years.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p>McAfee wrote that the speech was \u201clegally improper.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-v-0e30817a=\"\">\u201cIn these public and televised comments, the District Attorney complained that a Fulton County Commissioner \u2018and so many others\u2019 questioned her decision to hire SADA Wade,\u201d he wrote. \u201cWhen referring to her detractors throughout the speech, she frequently utilized the plural \u2018they.\u2019 The State argues the speech was not aimed at any of the Defendants in this case. Maybe so. But maybe not. Therein lies the danger of public comment by a prosecuting attorney.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-v-0e30817a=\"\">\u201cMore at issue, instead of attributing the criticism to a criminal accused\u2019s general aversion to being convicted and facing a prison sentence, the District Attorney ascribed the effort as motivated by \u2018playing the race card,&#8217;\u201d McAfee continued. \u201cShe went on to frequently refer to SADA Wade as the \u2018black man\u2019 while her other unchallenged SADAs were labeled \u2018one white woman\u2019 and \u2018one white man.\u2019 The effect of this speech was to cast racial aspersions at an indicted Defendant\u2019s decision to file this pretrial motion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis recently addressed race publicly, possibly in reaction to Judge Scott McAfee&#8217;s criticism of her previous &#8220;race card&#8221; speech.
