The court ruled that those involved in the\u2063 rioting incidents will be released on their own recognizance. The El Paso judge has mandated the release of specific illegal immigrants who stormed the southern border, creating disorder for Texas \u2064National Guard soldiers last month.\u2062 These individuals\u2063 involved in the rioting episodes will be set free on their own recognizance.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<figure><figcaption> \t\t\t\t \t\t\t\tA National Guard soldier in Eagle Pass, Texas (Getty Images)\t\t\t<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><span>An El Paso judge on Sunday ordered Texas authorities to release some of the illegal immigrants accused of rushing the southern border and overwhelming the state\u2019s National Guard troops last month. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>&#8220;It is the ruling of the court that all the rioting participation cases will be released on their own recognizance,&#8221; Magistrate Judge Humberto Acosta said at a virtual hearing on Sunday, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.elpasotimes.com\/story\/news\/immigration\/2024\/03\/31\/el-paso-border-riot-judge-orders-migrants-release\/73161289007\/\"><span>according<\/span><\/a><span>  to the <\/span><i><span>El Paso Times<\/span><\/i><span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Border Patrol officials on March 21 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/migrant-crowd-rushes-border-overwhelms-texas-national-guard\/\"><span>arrested<\/span><\/a><span>  hundreds of migrants\u2014mostly adult men from Venezuela\u2014who rioted and rushed the border near the Rio Grande. Some were charged with assault and criminal mischief after allegedly ripping down razor wire and knocking over members of the Texas National Guard. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Acosta justified his decision to release some of the rioting migrants by noting the El Paso district attorney\u2019s office is not yet ready to proceed with a detention hearing for each arrestee. &#8220;So, if the DA\u2019s office is telling me that they are not ready to go, what we\u2019re going to do is we\u2019re going to release all these individuals on their own recognizance,&#8221; the El Paso judge said. <\/span>\t<\/p>\n<p><span>An additional hearing for more detainees is expected to be held on Monday, the <\/span><i><span>El Paso Times<\/span><\/i><span>  reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Acosta\u2019s decision came amid a dispute between Texas governor Greg Abbott (R.) and the Biden administration. Abbott has <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/latest-news\/texas-defies-biden-admins-demand-it-give-access-to-border\/\"><span>deployed<\/span><\/a><span>  National Guard troops at Texas&#8217;s border with Mexico, defying the administration&#8217;s warnings against the state shutting down sections of the border. While the Supreme Court on March 19 gave the green light to the Texas governor\u2019s law allowing his officials to arrest and deport illegal immigrants, a federal appeals court put the law on hold just hours after the ruling. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An El Paso judge has ordered the release of some illegal immigrants who overpowered Texas National Guard troops at the southern border last month.
