Having \u2062previously\u2062 contested the Democratic nomination against President Joe Biden, Buttigieg,\u200d who once served as Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, now contributes to Biden&#8217;s administration. His insights \u2062were shared during a recent interview on &#8220;Face\u200d the Nation.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Transportation Secretary <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pete-buttigieg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Pete Buttigieg<\/a> said he sees now how \u201cdemanding\u201d the job of the <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/white-house\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>President of the United States<\/a> is and dismissed a future run.<\/p>\n<p>Buttigieg ran against President Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination in 2020. Previously, he had only held the position of Mayor of South Bend, Indiana. As a secretary on Biden\u2019s Cabinet, he claimed he has gained a \u201cnew perspective\u201d during an interview on <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/face-the-nation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Face the Nation\">Face the Nation<\/a><\/em>  on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWell, I certainly have a new perspective on just how demanding that job is, watching President Biden deal with so many concerns, challenges, and opportunities for this country. There have been six significant accidents involving Norfolk Southern\u00a0trains alone\u00a0since 2021. The most disruptive incident came just over a year ago, in East Palestine, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Ohio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Ohio<\/a>, where 38 train cars fell off the track on Feb. 3, 2023, and resulted in evacuations of nearby residents. Boeing is also under investigation for a variety of issues with their planes, including a door plug falling off mid-flight and two cases of tires coming loose.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Most recently, a large cargo ship lost power before it struck the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/francis-scott-key-bridge-collapse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Francis Scott Key Bridge<\/a>\u2019s support column in Baltimore, Maryland. It was able to send a mayday distress signal, which alerted authorities to stop traffic from entering the bridge; however, there were still six reported deaths, with two bodies recovered from the site to date.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Buttigieg has faced criticism for delaying trips to these crash sites.
