Paxton emphasizes passenger safety and aims to\u2062 ensure manufacturers uphold required standards,\u200c requesting Spirit&#8217;s DEI policy\u200d documents for scrutiny.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Texas Attorney General <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/ken-paxton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ken Paxton<\/a> opened up an investigation into a Boeing supplier\u2019s DEI policies amid growing concern over the aircraft company\u2019s safety and quality standards. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Paxton <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/news\/releases\/attorney-general-ken-paxton-opens-investigation-parts-supplier-boeing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> on Thursday that his office would be investigating Spirit AeroSystems Holdings, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adn.com\/nation-world\/2024\/02\/21\/with-boeing-in-hot-seat-over-alaska-airlines-fuselage-blowout-claims-against-supplier-spirit-aerosystems-take-shape\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">responsible<\/a> for building much of Boeing\u2019s 737 MAX 9 aircraft. Boeing\u2019s 737 Max has come under intense scrutiny after a door plug on an Alaska Airlines 737 MAX flew off mid-flight in January, prompting federal investigations. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe potential risks associated with certain airplane models are deeply concerning and potentially life-threatening to Texans,\u201d Paxton said in a statement. \u201cI will hold any company responsible if they fail to maintain the standards required by the law and will do everything in my power to ensure manufacturers take passenger safety seriously.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Paxton\u2019s office said Texas was investigating Spirit because \u201capparent manufacturing defects have led to numerous concerning or dangerous incidents, some of which occurred in-air.\u201d  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">As part of the investigation, Paxton has requested that Spirit turn over documents pertaining to its DEI policies as part of a probe into whether its DEI initiatives are lawful and potentially compromising manufacturing standards. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasattorneygeneral.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/images\/press\/Spirit%20Aero%20Request%20to%20Examine%20Letter.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> to the supplier, Paxton asks for copies of the minutes to Spirit\u2019s Global Diversity and Inclusion Council meetings as well as employee demographics prior to the enactment of its DEI policies. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1700760801843000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2PQrVSrJfhxNb4LcARqniG\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">On its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spiritaero.com\/company\/diversity-equity-inclusion\/overview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>, Spirit highlights its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion policies. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cCultivating a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion directly aligns with our <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.spiritaero.com\/company\/overview\/spirit-values\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">values<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">  and is a key enabler to achieving our overall business strategy to enhance performance,\u201d Spirit says. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Paxton also asked for records of manufacturing defects in relevant products. All the documents must be produced by April 17. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The investigation comes just days after Boeing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/top-boeing-leadership-to-leave-company-after-alaska-airlines-flight-loses-door-plug-midflight\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> that top leadership, including CEO David Calhoun, would be leaving the company. Leadership leaving the company include board chair Larry Kellner resigning from his position in May and Boeing Commercial Airplanes CEO Stan Deal retiring immediately.
