The Singaporean-flagged cargo ship that collided \u2063with the\u2064 Francis Scott Key Bridge in \u200bBaltimore recently had a\u2064 previous\u200d accident in 2016, according to Reuters. \u2063The 1,000-foot vessel named Dali hit a port in Antwerp, Belgium, affecting \u200bits seaworthiness \u200dand necessitating significant repairs.\u2064 This incident\u2062 resulted \u200din the ship being docked for a prolonged period.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>The Singaporean-flagged cargo ship that crashed into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/baltimore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baltimore<\/a> this week was involved in another accident several years ago, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/marjorie-taylor-greene-said-she-wouldnt-take-down-hitler-statue-in-newly-unearthed-video\/\" title=\"Marjorie Taylor Greene Said She Wouldn\u2019t Take Down Hitler Statue In Newly Unearthed Video\">newly unearthed video<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Reuters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/ship-that-hit-baltimore-bridge-also-involved-2016-antwerp-accident-2024-03-26\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> that the 1,000-foot Dali hit a port on July 11, 2016, as it tried to leave the North Sea container terminal in Antwerp, Belgium.<\/p>\n<p>The ship reportedly suffered damage that was serious enough that it impacted the ship\u2019s seaworthiness, causing the ship to remain docked for a long time while it underwent repairs.<\/p>\n<p>WATCH:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>The ship has been inspected more than two dozen times and has recorded two \u201cdeficiencies,\u201d according to records obtained by CNN.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn June of 2023, in San Antonio, Chile, the Chilean authorities gave the DALI a \u2018deficiency\u2019 for \u2018propulsion and auxiliary machinery \u2014 gauges, thermometers, etc,&#8217;\u201d the report said, according to Equasis records.<\/p>\n<p>The National Transportation Safety Board gave <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/ntsb-reports-timeline-of-baltimore-bridge-disaster\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">details<\/a> about this week\u2019s accident in a newly released timeline.<\/p>\n<p>The ship departed Seagirt Marine Terminal at approximately 12:39\u2028 a.m. By 1:07 a.m., it had entered the Fort McHenry Channel. By 1:24 a.m., the ship was underway on a true heading of approximately 141 degrees in the Fort McHenry Channel at an indicated speed over ground of approximately 8 knots\/9 miles per hour.<\/p>\n<p>Roughly one minute later, \u201cnumerous aural alarms were recorded on the ship\u2019s bridge audio,\u201d the NTSB reported, adding, \u201cAround the same time, VDR ship system data ceased recording, however, the VDR audio continued to be recorded using the VDR\u2019s redundant power source. Around 01:26:02, the VDR resumed recording ship system data. During this time, there were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cargo-ship-had-engine-maintenance-in-port-before-it-collided-with-baltimore-bridge-officials-say\/\" title=\"Officials report that a cargo ship underwent engine maintenance at port prior to colliding with a bridge in Baltimore\">steering commands<\/a> and rudder orders on the VDR audio.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAround 01:26:39 the ship\u2019s pilot made a general VHF radio call for tugs in the vicinity of the DALI. MDTA data from around this time indicated the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ntsb-reports-timeline-of-baltimore-bridge-disaster\/\" title=\"Exploring the Timeline of Baltimore Bridge Disaster as Reported by NTSB\">pilot association dispatcher phoned<\/a> the MDTA duty officer regarding the blackout. Around 1:27:04, the pilot commanded the DALI to drop the port anchor and issued additional steering commands,\u201d the NTSB continued. \u201cAround 1:27:25, the pilot issued a radio call over the VHF radio and reported the DALI had lost all power approaching the Key Bridge,\u201d the NTSB stated, adding that at roughly 1:29 a.m., \u201cthe ship\u2019s speed over ground was recorded as just under 7 knots\/8 miles per hour.
