The measure passed smoothly through both the\u200c state House and Senate, ensuring public dollars do not go towards such procedures and restricting doctors employed with the government from \u200cperforming \u2064them using public funds. Senator Ben \u200cToews\u200b expressed support for the legislation \u2064during the debate.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/idaho\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Idaho<\/a> Republican Governor Brad Little signed a bill into law on Wednesday that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-ramps-up-abortion-agenda\/\" title=\"Biden Ramps Up Abortion Agenda\">prohibits taxpayer dollars<\/a> from being used to pay for transgender surgeries and procedures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/sessioninfo\/2024\/legislation\/h0668\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">measure<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, which easily passed both the state House and Senate, prohibits <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/idaho\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Idaho<\/a> public dollars from going toward transgender procedures and stipulates that those procedures cannot be done in a government owned building or properties. It passed the House by a vote of 58-11 and the Senate by a vote of 26-8.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe proposed legislation ensures taxpayer dollars are not used to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-releases-list-of-president-trumps-accomplishments-and-it-is-historic\/\" title=\"White House Releases List of President Trump\u2019s Accomplishments \u2013  And It Is Historic!\">provide medical treatment<\/a> or surgeries for the purpose of changing the appearance of a person\u2019s sex in a way that is not consistent with their biological sex,\u201d a <a href=\"https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/sessioninfo\/2024\/legislation\/H0668SOP.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> of purpose on the legislation said. \u201c<\/span>These medical and surgical interventions can cause <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lets-talk-about-the-gender-poisoned-mass-shooter-trend-the-media-are-trying-to-hide\/\" title=\"Discussing the media's attempt to conceal the gender-poisoned mass shooter trend\">irreversible physical alterations<\/a>; and some render the patient sterile or with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-calls-for-aclu-response-to-idahos-child-transgender-surgeries-ban\/\" title=\"Supreme Court seeks ACLU's response on Idaho's ban on child transgender surgeries\">lifelong sexual dysfunction<\/a>, while others mutilate healthy body organs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Included in the <a href=\"https:\/\/legislature.idaho.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/sessioninfo\/2024\/legislation\/H0668.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">law<\/a> is a prohibition of using Idaho Medicaid funds for transgender procedures, as well as blocking doctors employed with the government from performing the procedures in the scope of their government work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Little, whose signing of the measure was first <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2024\/03\/28\/idaho-gov-ban-taxpayer-funding-sex-change-procedures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">reported<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> by the Daily Caller, was widely expected to support the measure after it made its way through the legislature.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIf the government continues to send our tax dollars towards false answers to real questions, we do a terrible disservice to our citizens,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kivitv.com\/downtown-boise\/governor-brad-little-signs-bill-that-bans-public-funds-used-for-gender-affirming-care#:~:text=BOISE%2C%20Idaho%20%E2%80%94%20On%20March%2027,for%20any%20gender%2Daffirming%20care.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a> Senator Ben Toews during debate on the bill.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The measure was opposed by Democrats and liberal groups like the ACLU, but backed by conservative organizations like the Alliance Defending Freedom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1711722593099000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2BYobdhGnzBnBpziY8U6Zu\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThere are only two sexes\u2014male and female\u2014and public funds shouldn\u2019t be used to deny this basic truth,\u201d said ADF Senior Counsel Matt Sharp in a <a href=\"https:\/\/adfmedia.org\/press-release\/idaho-law-ensures-public-funds-do-not-promote-dangerous-life-altering-procedures\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">statement<\/a> praising Little\u2019s decision. \u201cNow and always, our loved ones deserve the loving embrace of family members who guide them toward this reality, along with access to safe and effective counseling. People should not be subjected to harmful\u2014often irreversible\u2014drugs and surgeries that block healthy development, alter hormonal balances, and remove healthy organs and body parts.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIdaho, through the leadership of sponsors Rep. Julianne Young, Rep. Bruce Skaug and Sen. Ben Toews and with the support of the Legislature and Gov.
