Meuser suggested exploring funding from Singapore instead of solely relying on taxpayer money.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div data-td-block-uid=\"tdi_78\">\n<p>A Republican lawmaker blasted <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>President Joe Biden\u2019s<\/a> initial reaction to the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/baltimore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Baltimore<\/a>, claiming he had not put any thought into how to handle the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/author\/rep-dan-mueser\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Dan Meuser <\/a>(R-PA) said Biden\u2019s promise that the <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/federal-government\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>federal government <\/a>would fund the repair of the bridge was \u201coutrageous\u201d and asserted that the federal government \u201ccan\u2019t just take the east route.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was kind of outrageous immediately for Biden to express in this tragedy the idea that he\u2019s going to use federal funds to pay for the entirety [of the bridge],\u201d Meuser <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RepMeuser\/status\/1773411008263934202\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"told\">told<\/a> Fox News\u2019s Maria Bartiromo on Thursday. \u201cFirst reaction, frankly the only reaction, tends to be to spend. The <em>Dali<\/em> crashed into part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/2941541\/white-house-too-soon-cost-time-frame-baltimore-bridge-reconstruction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Francis Scott Key Bridge<\/a> on Tuesday, causing it to fall into the Patapsco River.<\/p>\n<p>The comment comes after Biden claimed he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/stand-your-ground-hugs-from-brazil-brazilian-right-wing-president-cheers-joe-rogan\/\" title=\"\u2018Stand Your Ground! Hugs From Brazil\u2019: Brazilian Right-Wing President Cheers Joe Rogan\">expected congressional support<\/a> for the reconstruction project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s my intention that the federal government will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge, and I expect the Congress to support my effort,\u201d Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/2938867\/biden-promises-us-government-will-pay-baltimore-key-bridge-reconstruction\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>said<\/a> on Tuesday. \u201cThis is going to take some time, but the people of Baltimore can count on us to stick with them at every step of the way until the port is reopened and the bridge is rebuilt.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It is not clear what the repairs and restoration will cost, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-bad-is-bureaucratic-incompetence-deadly-mismanagement-of-organ-transplants-offers-a-hint\/\" title=\"How Bad Is Bureaucratic Incompetence? Transportation Secretary <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pete-buttigieg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title>Pete Buttigieg<\/a> claimed the federal government has about $950 million in funds authorized for emergency use, the rest will need to be approved by Congress.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title><strong>CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The cause for the crash has not been determined so far, but the ship issued a \u201cmayday\u201d warning prior to the accident. Six people are believed to have died. Two other people were injured in the collapse but were rescued.<\/p>\n<p>The collapse is also expected to have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/microsoft-president-brad-smith-on-the-dark-side-of-ai-search-engines-were-going-to-need-laws\/\" title=\"Microsoft President Brad Smith On The Dark Side Of AI Search Engines: \u2018We\u2019re Going To Need Laws\u2019\">major economic impact<\/a> on the surrounding community because it forced the Port of Baltimore to close.
