Comer\u2063 proposed April 16 for the hearing, offering flexibility in scheduling. The\u2064 investigation suggests substantial \u2063foreign payments to Biden and his family, with\u2064 evidence challenging Biden&#8217;s denials. Comer called for Biden to answer\u2062 questions directly to\u2062 address conflicting narratives.\u200b The invitation follows testimonies from former\u200c Biden family\u200d associates.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, House Oversight Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/james-comer\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">James Comer<\/a> (R-KY) sent a formal invite to President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/joe-biden\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a> to testify as part of a corruption-focused <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/impeachment\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">impeachment<\/a> inquiry on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-grill-fed-nominee-over-alleged-influence-peddling\/\" title=\"Republicans Grill Fed Nominee Over Alleged Influence Peddling\">alleged influence peddling<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Comer said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/dw-wp-production.imgix.net\/2024\/03\/2024-03-28-CJC-letter-to-JRB.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> to Biden his panel is proposing April 16 for a hearing to occur and noted that it is \u201copen to accommodating\u201d the president\u2019s schedule. The chairman also posed a series of questions, asking Biden to respond in writing about whether he met or otherwise interacted with specific foreign business executives, as well as details on the context of the contacts.<\/p>\n<p>House investigators accounted for $24 million that \u201cflowed\u201d toward Biden, his family, and their business associates from other countries such as China and Ukraine, but the committee has \u201cidentified no legitimate services to merit such lucrative payments,\u201d Comer said.<\/p>\n<p>Evidence including bank records and witness testimony \u201cwholly contradicts\u201d Biden\u2019s denial about being involved in his family\u2019s business activities,\u201d Comer said. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/economically-illiterate-democrat-committee-chair-calls-on-oil-ceos-to-testify-on-high-gas-prices\/\" title=\"Economically Illiterate Democrat Committee Chair Calls on Oil CEOs to Testify on High Gas Prices\">chairman accused<\/a> the White House of taking a \u201cposition hostile\u201d to his panel\u2019s investigation and \u201crefuses to release certain information or make available witnesses to testify regarding issues\u201d to the inquiry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn light of the yawning gap between your public statements and the evidence assembled by the Committee, as well as the White House\u2019s obstruction, it is in the best interest of the American people for you to answer questions from Members of Congress directly, and I hereby invite you to do so,\u201d Comer said.<\/p>\n<p>The invitation comes a little more than a week after a pair of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/impeachment-witness-tony-bobulinski-claims-hunter-and-james-biden-perjured-themselves\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">former Biden family associates<\/a>, Tony Bobulinski and Jason Galanis, testified in a public hearing that Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/witnesses-confirm-joe-bidens-involvement-in-his-familys-influence-peddling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">did participate<\/a> in his family\u2019s business dealings. The president\u2019s son, Hunter Biden, declined to attend following a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/comer-eyes-public-hearing-with-hunter-biden-to-address-discrepancies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/don-jr-i-wont-jump-on-bandwagon-to-cancel-sen-cruz\/\" title=\"Don Jr.: I won\u2019t jump on bandwagon to cancel Sen. Cruz\">closed-door interview<\/a><\/a> last month in which he insisted his father was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/hunter-biden-testifies-house-oversight-judiciary-impeachment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">not involved<\/a> in his deals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe public is left with two irreconcilable narratives,\u201d Comer said. \u201cThe first \u2014 asserted by you \u2014 is that you did not engage in influence peddling in exchange for payments to your family. The second asserted by witnesses and a body of evidence \u2026 is that you were indeed involved in these pay-for-influence schemes and that you have been repeatedly untruthful regarding a matter relevant to national security and your own fitness to serve\u201d as president.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1700760801843000&#038;usg=AOvVaw2PQrVSrJfhxNb4LcARqniG\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>When Comer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/biden-impeachment-president-to-get-invite-for-testimony-gop-chairman-says\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced<\/a> at the end of last week\u2019s hearing that he planned to invite President Biden to testify, Oversight Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) asked Comer if he would also invite former President Donald Trump to talk about his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-impeachment-president-to-get-invite-for-testimony-gop-chairman-says\/\" title=\"GOP Chairman: Biden to Receive Invitation for Testimony in Impeachment Proceedings\">alleged emoluments violations<\/a> and claimed there is no evidence of the elder Biden committing high crimes and misdemeanors.<\/p>\n<p>The White House also offered a dismissive response. Spokesman Ian Sams issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IanSams46\/status\/1770577655798091802\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">post<\/a> to X that started with \u201cLOL\u201d and an emoji of a man doing a facepalm.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cComer knows 20+ witnesses have testified that POTUS did nothing wrong. He knows that the hundreds of thousands of pages of records he\u2019s received have refuted his false allegations,\u201d Sams said. \u201cThis is a sad stunt at the end of a dead impeachment,\u201d he added. \u201cCall it a day, pal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While it remains unclear whether the House Republicans will ultimately introduce articles of impeachment against Biden, let alone have enough votes to pass them in the narrowly-divided House, Comer recently suggested there will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/comer-says-biden-impeachment-inquiry-will-lead-to-multiple-criminal-referrals\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">criminal referrals<\/a> that come out of the inquiry.<\/p>\n<p>The president\u2019s brother, James Biden, is among the other witnesses to provide testimony for the impeachment inquiry. He also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/james-biden-claims-president-was-not-involved-in-family-business-dealings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">denied<\/a> President Biden was involved in his business affairs.
